on this board. some members are selling theirs. I dunno if any vendors have any of the V1 left over. If so, I'd recommend that.

Why do you recommend V1 over V2?

Why do you recommend V2 over V1?

Price mainly. I expected alot more features from a V2. Given that the units are digital (4 chips), I assumed more features would be released with V2. At the very least, I expected the ability to install it somehwere else ($1 harness) and the extended knobs (another $1). Those new features would at least justify maintaining or even slightly raising the price point. Instead, what happened? A harness was added to connect the pins versus splicing and the unit was given remote features that won't be released for a bit and at a HEFTY price.

Thats why I recommend getting a V1, IF you can get a good deal and then just modifying it yourself.

Use the BBB if you want to know who has a bad rap....

Should be without. The remote is about $600.

What's up? I only have a year left on the lease so I'm starting to return it to stock. I'm going on a road trip next month and would like the company. I'll let you know. Take care.

I picked up V2 for $800 from Ebay. I'll never buy the remote and will eventually extend the wiring to the cup holder. However, V2 did enable me to do the install myself as I would not have been as comfortable having to splice it in.

New? That is not a bad discount on rennTech stuff. Who was it? You don't have to splice the V1, either. You can use the OEM pins, but you will need a harness and extra set of pinned wires. It is a PITA, but worth saving hundreds of dollars. in your case, $800 isn't bad.
