LET Motorsports Stage 1

Im deciding whether or not to go with Stage 1 at LET Motorsports. How much hp and torque can i expect to gain? Im gona get the Stage 1, johnson cm 30 pump and k&n air filters to start. Anybody else have this set up? Your help is appreciated.

I dunno about LET's stage 1, but most tuners are similar. You should gain about 50hp and 50TQ for just over $2K. I like the K&Ns, but why the CM30 pump? It doesn't perform any better than the OEM one. If you are having issues with your pump, get a new one under warranty. A CM30 will only last longer, so they are more reliable but why replace what ain't broke or under warranty with something that performs similarly? You want to add flow, get a CM90. In all honesty, I think you should consider a real cooling kit (i.e. separate the SC cooling out).

I think the cm30 flows better than the OEM pump. Is this better? Not sure, some people will argue that with more flow means less time the fluid stays in the heat exchanger. This negates the purpose of the exchanger. I will agree that upgrading the cooling will be better.

Some quick tests were done and the OEM bosch pumps the same as a CM30. Don't be fooled.

Seems to be a significant difference to me. Not to mention, many people would rather have the reliability of the CM30 over the stock unit in regards to being under load.

Reliability for sure. If your OEM pump is going and you have no warranty, then absolutely get a CM30. I am against JUST getting the CM30 on the stock car and expecting any help.

I'm not sure why? That was my first mod. My car lunched two OEM pumps, and I was out.

The LET stage 1 is a pulley, tune, and heat exchanger. Expect to pay around $1200 + your pulley choice.

The pump is about $150 shipped (CM030) and labor should be about 1.5 hrs.

I have had the LET stage 1 setup on my car for about 2 months (4k miles) and it has been nothing short of AMAZING! I would spend the extra money on their custom tuning any day of the week, as I believe this is largely responsible for the 50hp and 100 tq increases over stock on my car (with ASP pulley). Bang-for-the-buck, I'm not sure if it gets any better than this deal. Not to mention, the LET guys have been nothing short of EXCELLENT on the customer service side of things.

As far as the Johnson Pump goes, I think this is the biggest, most cost-effective no brainer of them all.

Good luck with whatever you decide and get ready for 11s!

Is the $1200 the final price or is that without the price of the pulley?

How does adding the stage 1 and pulley affect reliability? Has anyone been running a similar setup for a prolonged period of time without issues? In most cars an extra 100lbs of torque will toast trannys rear ends mounts and just about anything else in its path.

Add the price of the pulley of choice.

I'm running ASP; LET has a unit in development, and there are several other vendors who have suitable offerings.

WRT to component stress, it would be similar to the additional stress placed by a K2 or similar. Plenty of headroom, IMO.

Trannys in the 55k cars have had and will handle more torque. Most guys here have lighty to heavy modded cars with no problems.
