^^+1. The sleeper affect.

But from what I remember the 0-60 on the R8 is slower than the 0-60 on the E63, but it looks like I was wrong.

08 E63 Wagon
I heard the wagon is a tick faster then the sedan b/c of the added weight on the rear wheels giving it better traction.

Urban myth. Close as to make no difference. Just put a bag of sand in the sedan and then you'll have the weight and the aeros!

Also, just to correct some posters, V0 in R8 will be NA not the TT from the second gen RS6. It's going to be a great car but I'm with those who find the sleeper wagons that bit cooler.

Yes, that car is definitely begging for an engine. Spent about 45 minutes driving one a few weeks ago and was left kind of cold.

The engine certainly didn't help but it just seemed to be missing something. It handles great, very neutral - point it where you want it to go and that's where it goes. Just didn't feel all that engaging to me. The interior is (as usual) first rate, and very comfortable. Not much sound to speak of either.

Drove this after spending time in an F430 so that may have something to do with my letdown LOL!

Would make for an excellent daily driver if you don't need 4 doors and want something a bit more sporty. I'm not a huge fan of it's looks either. Looks great from the rear but I don't love it from other views.

Good post. I do love that 4.2 V8 FSI though. However, you expect more hp in such a dramatic looking car. Now, the RS4 I've lusted after for three years now.

ouch, imagine pulling up with your fighter jet looking Audi with just from its looks screams don't race me and then getting demolished by a wagon r8's a nice car but like other's i agree its not worth the price, and +1 for the benz wagon, just another example why Benzo is #1

ohh man that sucks. i did get a kick out of that. the worst is that the driver does not know how to drive if you look at the video and replay back to back you can see he was to late to turn for that turn and good bye.

15 sec on you can see his to late. and all he did was hold the brakes while going reverse. amature.

Don't know about under 40, but likely in the low to mid.

It'd like Groundhog Day around here.

No, they are not. It's close but the sedan is quicker as it's lighter. Having more weight over the back wheels may help the wagons 30ft time but mostly one magazine test got blown out of proportion. Not al 55k engines are equal with some factory ones slightly stronger than others and so on.

I thought it might have something to do with innitial grip ... I really need to get my mind set on checking 1/4 miles rather than 0-60s !

magazine racing IS a curse (eh ZOD ? )

problem is 1/4 miles is an even trickier business ..

The real test of a cars power is the standing mile! Time & MPH in the standing mile tell the truth about a car's performance.

I've seen 4 flat for R8s, and 4.1 (to 60) for E63s. Damn close if you ask me. I think their times look legit.

How the hell did that guy manage to get an R8 tail happy? You could tell he was going in way too hot, but I thought he was gonna understeer right off, I guess not. I laugh at that now, but if that was me, I would've been saying a lot worse, haha.

mid-engined cars handle great but are immensely snappy when you exceed the limit.
