I'm not really an electronic guy, but I was thinking maybe u can have 2 switches, each on either side of the seat. the only way to turn the S/C on/off is to press both at the same time.
Is it do-able?

I don't think anyone wants to shut off there SC...but having a switch would be handy when the car is in other hands or you're on a long trip and want +4 mpg. I don't think I could ever do the latter but it would be nice to have the option

The SC clutch is controlled by what, the ECU? It's set to engage at around 1200rpm? The switch would only have to tell it never to engage. I'm sure talking about is a lot easier then doing it though...

Yeah, they can play with when it engages but then you have to worry about the engine parameters at speed. the ECu would still assume it is getting the boost. You'd almost need two ecu setups... Either way, I think you guys just shouldn't let people you don't trust to drive your cars.

Without boost it is a 9:1 CR 5.5L that has to breathe through a blower.

Good one! Id say the E55 is just as thursty as Max's Interceptor too! Fuel crisis is not that bad yet... but a supercharger switch like Mad Max had would be the go if things get worse!

com'on shutting down the Kompressor is like cutting off electricity. :s if you want to save gas millage you can but a corolla or something right???

plus if you can get E55 you might as well pay for gas with no problem .. unless the car is financed.

save 5 mpg is not that much of a deal but thanks for the advice man

That would be simple. Run an single pole switch to one of the lines to the blower and you are done.

You will get a CEL, if you run it too long. It will clear once the switch is back on.

Vadim, what about the blower by-pass valve? How could we be sure it is open all the way, when the SC is off? Or is the ECU smart enough to think "I have the blower on, but I don't see boost, so I'll hold the by-pass valve open cause I think I've thrown a belt" After seeing the internal contacts in the by-pass, there is more to that valve than meets the eye.

here is a better idea, why don't you just make the switch connected to the speed sensor ( like the TV one, ofcourse i removed it by going into the engineering mode ) but by this way

it will be assured that it will not turn on or off unless the car is in still mode.

Thanks for the reply but what lines are you referring to? I'm new to these cars and still figuring out what's what.

Has anyone done this? Doesn't seem like a consensus on how to go about doing this.
