Bummed Beyond Belief

The E is going back to the dealer/MB this weekend (likely tomorrow as my wife and I are likely going out of town) as my lease is expiring on Sunday.

The old saying “don’t know what you have ‘til it is gone” is an understatement.

I was looking at the car in the garage tonight and almost had tears come to my eyes (I am not kidding).

Long but short story on "why not just get another one or extend your lease?" The net is it is not in the cards at this point (many reasons).

Enjoy what you have, gentlemen…

lease

sorry to hear, if you like it why not negioate a lower price than your residual for the car. I know alot of dealers doing this due due to gas prices and the weak car market

I know the feeling, feel bad that you are going through this. Even as a kid, I remember my dad getting rid of the Legend coupe, and the GS400, it was sad.

Oh man my GF sold her Legend last year after having it for 6 years. What a great car.... That was a tough day...

Her dad had bought a 91 legend sedan new in 1991. He donated it with well over 300K miles in 2004... I watched him tear up.

I don;t really cry over german cars. To me they are awsome machines. I think a Italian car would make me sob.

I could not do it. I've owned my E for just under three years, thought about selling, took the car to the car wash and saw it driven out of the wash...I physically slapped myself for even thinking about selling. I'm slapping on a few mods and an extended warranty...and hoping to hand it down to my kid.

I feel it for you, hope you return to mb ownership soon...in the meanwhile that's a killer garage.

Thank you for all your support during this tough time! I have the E for less than 5 hours and counting (the dealer closes at 5:00 CST).

Yeah, Legends are some of the best cars ever made, imho. That V6 sounds amazing, and they handle great, and never break. My dad had a gen 1 coupe, silver on black, 5 speed, 3 spoke Borbets, tinted, no badges, and a very nice sounding exhaust, think NSX without the rasp. Amazing. I might try to buy it back, saw it fly by the other day.

Make the most of your time with the 55. Go out and pick some fights with a few vettes.
