As faras another fast 63 there are two cls 63's one running NOS built by ASR and the other getting some custom work now. Has headers, tune , wheels, cams, parktronic removed and exhaust. (parktronic) removal was a joke.


You are definately going to be a difficult car to top as you have done some very choice mods and understand weight very well.

Rick is 135 lbs, he hangs with Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan, he is a very instinctive driver. His car should pick up alot with a SC....We shall see.

That's my job to accomplish, the E55 all motor record. I am just .15 seconds away. Maybe this Wednesday, I will break it or for that matter maybe Lee will with his WAGON. We have ideal conditions and our BEASTS are running strong. All I need is a 1.62 launch with 50 degree temps and VIOILA!!!!!


I see a lot of great E55 match ups at MIR. I think we know who they are too.

BTW what is the all motor record for a 55? If by a stroke of luck my heads and cams were completed in time for MIR and with good weather I think I might be able to get into the very high 10's on motor alone. I have already made a couple 11.4 passes on motor only. Guys keep telling me that at MIR that would have been a 11.2 pass so .300 out of the heads, cams and updated ECU tune along with all the other goodies EXCLUDING THE NOS should not be a streatch.

Again, I'm not a "paper" racer, you/I/we can sit here and put out theorys, correction factors and formulas til we're blue in the face, until I actually run the time they are all meaningless theorys...let's just call them goals.

I would like to take a stab at that 10.5 with my bottle at MIR if and when I can get her into the high 10's on motor only.

Og gawd please do not give him any more ideas. Honestly I believe a TT on that BS car would be the ultimate mod. Once again for all the 500 plus hp cars it is going to be a traction battle and tuning nightmare IMHO

You can do it, but it will never be easy. Pulling a 1.6x short time in a AMG is very very difficult. The temp is also tricky , as you may lose "heat in the track" slippppppppppery...Man o Man, GOOOD LUCK, I always enjoy seeing you strive for the top spot.

Thanks Josh and you are right, EVERYTHING has to be PERFECT to break records. That's what keeps us going week to week at the track in the pursuit of E55 ALL MOTOR RECORDS (11.34X).

I will keep ya posted.

Just an FYI, when Albert set the 55 record the conditions were less than ideal! If I remember correctly it was actually quite hot that day at MIR. Unless he broke the record another day.

How do you check the conditions for a particular day. Ex, I am thinking of going to the track next week...would like to check DA, etc...

I just use weather.com for the weather projections and as it gets closer they post the Barometric pressure and Dew Point. With Temperature, Dew Point and Barometric pressure, you can compute Density Altitude. Here is the link I use:

So for example at 90 sea level (NED) and 55 degrees at 30.00 Altimeter with a dew point of 45 degrees = DA of -113 Ft.

www.smokemup.com is the NHRA's official site for weather correction. It has auto DA lookup for various tracks around the country including MIR so it will be easy when we get there.

My car ran the 11.34 in 70 degree weather and according to the weather look up the da was 650 to 750 ft at the track. The car had a pulley, headers with no primary cats, tb and a larger heat exchanger with pump.

At Mir the car had all of the above plus the cams and the large trunk mounted reservoir and ran 11.39 at the same mph. I figured the weather difference was probably killing close to 30 rwhp.

My suggestion to Hb is to do the tcu, the first 330ft is being limited imo on the modded cars.

I take it you were referring to me Albert, Higginsbeach (Hb). If so, I get nervous about the TCU upgrade. Only because of what happened to Adam and his business with the TCU upgrades. Is there anyone who is doing this TCU upgrade that has proven results and is reliable??

i'm pretty sure adam wasn't doing (couldn't do) tcu stuff...at least not to any significant extent. i think we're all waiting impatiently for mhp's results.

Weather permitting I'll have dyno/track results this Friday for both our ECU/TCU tuning on my own C63. Marko and Jim will have their tuned TCUs to test by next week.
