Okay so the consensus (found by Exotic) is :
AMG 80mm TB - 113 141 05 25
S/C inlet 80mm - 113 140 09 12
S/C inlet gasket - 113 141 07 80
80mm TB gasket - 137 141 07 80
80mm Y-Pipe with tubes - 113 090 03 29
(Y-pipe cannot be ordered without tubes anymore, comes as a kit)
Who can get a deal on them?

Those look like LIST MB prices.. I would look for a MB dealer that gives discounts to thier very fine ELITE AMG customers.. We all spread the AMG word, so it should be worth a little % off...

I thought there was an inlet that had to be modified / enlarged and that was where the tuners came in? They are also offering the convenience factor but when you are talking 25-50% off now that is no joke.
I have just emailed an Mercedes connection...I shall see what he has to say.

Nothing to be modified, except wires / pins depending on car's year.

Well, I have a friend on the inside who can get the parts for the throttle bodies for a little over $1k .
It's approx. a 5 hour install... give or take.
He can possibly do a group buy / group install
Any takers?

Whats the difference between this one and the $1,999 VRP one?

Jangy which model TB do you think is best for install, I dont mind switching pins out, but a true plug and play would be best. I know one member here stated that he had to drill a hole into the TB and press fit some sort of pvc connector for a vacuum line I am "*** summing". I have all the parts except the TB #.... Any insight very much appreciated!!! Best regards, Joseph

Joseph ////// Et-all, I have the 07 sl55 TB and had to drill a hole and press in a 14mmx25mm long pipe with a 9mm ID hole in it. This was for my PCV hose to connect . The 07 TB number is 113-140-01-04. I would not go with this tB as a plug and play model. I have an 03 -55 motor with a stock 04 -55TB on it. They both have the PCV hose on the bottom of the TB..Unless, things changed in 05-06, then I would use the above numbers listed. Those prices are on the high side, as my TB was in the 880.00 range..
I also had to switch the 1-4 wire and 5-6 wire to make it work.. Last , I have taken pictures of my 07-55 -80mmTb (really 78mm) next to my stock 74mm 04-55 TB. not the tabs that my pen is pointing to in the 3rd pic.. Those tabs hold your air tubes on and the 2007 sl55 does not have the correct tabs to work with the Y pipe tube listed above.. I had to make small tabs to go under my mounting bolts to hold the above air tube on.. Again, the TB listed at the top of this post should eliminate most these issues.

As far as the wiring goes, the '03s are different than the '06. I would use WIS for the installs.
So, is the concensus that the best parts to use depends on your MY? Also with the tabs, I don't use them so I forgot all about them.
Why does one model have a PCV and another doesn't?

Whats the deal with the Hemi 90mm retro kit?
Like exotic said---cant be that hard (ie $$) to get an EE to make the Hemi part work.
As i recall--the only reason Vrp didnt go this route was because they wanted to use all AMG parts to avoid warranty issues.
I wish I had a stock TB and knew an EE. A 90mm HEmi tb is like $400. add a plate and mahcine. less than $1000 seems very doable.

The issue with the Hemi TB is that it uses 1 potentiometer where our setups use 2 potentiometers. The potentiometers are used to calculate throttle blade position.
In other words their 5wire harness is not compatible with our 6wire setup. Our ECU expects 2 output signals where they only have 1.
I've done extensive research on throttle bodies on these cars as some of you can tell from my original 80mm TB Thread that goes back to May of 2006. https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/146992-80mm-amg-throttle-body.html
There are many ways to make an 80mm work on our cars and each combination of parts has its own challenges; from issues with PCV port locations, Y-pipe thickness, bolt hole configuration, throttle blade configuration (reverse opening or normal), etc, etc.
Exotic-metal55: You didnt have to and shouldnt have drilled a hole to put the PCV hose into the TB.

Here is a thought on a 100mm tb.. I mic-ed the 80mm housing it will go 90 mm -ish pretty easy..That is a clear 90mm opening verses 10-15% restriction from the T body blade (9mm dia x 90mm wide) .. Based on that a 100 mm with blade should still flow better than a 90mm tb flowing into a 90mm free diameter inlet. Sign me up for the 100mm
I still feel the 100 mm tb should come with a new larger cast inlet though..

Does your car not have a PCV? I think some models may have the PCV on the inlet housing instead of the TB..

bringing this thread back but i got a question. my stock TB crapped ou and i got the 80mm setup to replace it. i got the part numbers listed in this thread.
my question is : do i need to swap any pins on this TB to make it work? AMG 80mm TB - 113 141 05 25
on a side note i can get all the parts needed to your door for 1425$ or 1375$ if we get 5 people that want this

This things are coming down in price, pretty soon they will be priced at $1k.
I might be in for the GB.
