There is video of the 11.871 pass and the 11.861 pass, not sure about the record setting pass. I am waiting for the guy to e-mail me the footage of my passes, as soon as I get it I will post it. He said he was going to post on You Tube.

I also handed it to a Ktech tuned Z06 a couple times last night...with video proof![/QUOTE]

I'm not going to post any times or slips until after tuesday because I am tired of the trash talking and this thread already got one or more people banned. Let's just say I'm pretty sure I put the 63 record out of reach for a little while. ...remember, I have NOS, CF drive-shaft, a pulley, cams and heads on their way.

Don't worry, your CLK record is still safe...but just barely. You can kiss it goodbye this Tuesday when I mount up the Mickey Thompsons. I am not going to post my time or slips until I beat you lets just say I trapped at over 122, so all the nay sayers and resident self proclaimed experts can kiss my gym shorts. Like I said before, I think the 63 record is gonna be safe in sweet home Chicago for a while. If the tires can give me .125 and if the NOS can get me another .200 I will be right in the ball park of an 11.00, so whatever that corrects out to at MIR 10.60-10.70???? By the time MIR comes around I'll have the CF drive shaft, cams and heads as well, we might see some 10.40's, maybe quicker if MIR is the super track they all claim it to be.

Right now I am content with holding the 63 record, by Tuesday I will secure the CLK record and in November I want all the records.

Cool I really hope you do beat my old time for fastest CLK55 so I have some motivation again! I have a few more mods on the way as well Dont forget that 11.48 was run on 1.5 PSI less boost, no cams, no nitrous, and previous to the intake...

You have to be kidding with the persecution complex...what a little baby (I hope that wasn't too strong of language for Brad). You actually just proved our (a.k.a. naysayers) point....something was wrong when a car with your mods is only trapping barely 118mph. A 122+mph trap is more indicitive of the power you are putting down to the wheels. I am glad something worked its way out for a better time for your car.

No persecution complex here, just going to go about things a bit differently, I don't need every "expert" on this board throwing in his 2 pennies worth. Nothing "got worked out" all I did was launch the car at 200 rpm higher than the previous runs and was carrying a lighter fuel load, 1/8th vs over 3/4 tank. 60" stayed about the same (1.80), but put a couple into the 1.7 range. The wierdest part of this was that the conditions were much worse, about 18 degrees warmer, with 90% humidity. To be honest I am now more confused than before. If you would have told me before the night began that I would beat (badly) my previous best times I would have said your nuts because of the conditions.

I'm going back tomorrow night with the Mickey Thompsons mounted up, weather permitting, but it is supposed to be very hot (mid to upper 90's and very humid), so we will see what happens.

First, congrats on your new times....

Second, I've got some questions for you...

1) So what's the new record already?
2) What was the DA and time of your run so that we can figure out what does it correct down to?
3) What did you do differently aside from less fuel and cooling down in-between runs?
4) What rpm did you launch at? Usually, if I try to launch my car at any higher than 1000 rpm, I lose some traction
5) Which filters were you using?

It's against my best judgment because I know the peanut gallery is going to chime in. I ran 11.61 at 122.1 mph. The only difference were I was at a different track , I had a lighter fuel load 1/8 vs. just over 3/4 and I launched at exactly 2500 vs approx 2200-2300 last time and I softened up the suspension as much as I could, but did not change ride height. Not sure how you are losing traction at only 1000 rpm, my car idles nearly that high. I ran with the same 21psi rear and 65 front as last time. I am still breaking the tires lose at the shift going into 2nd gear and I need to figure out if I am better off not giving it full throttle and maintaing traction or if I should just keep it pinned at that point to keep the revs and MPH up. I run the DOT R compound Corsas, maybe those are stickier than whatever you run. I can put down consistant 1.75-1.80 60' launching at around 2500.

I would post up slips but I woke up this morning in Las Vegas...LOL. I'm not kidding appearently I got real drunk and dared a few buddies to fly to Vegas with me.

I just thought I would pop in and say I was at the track on Friday when JRCART posted several 11.7's and a very low 11.6. He was besting my bone stock Black Series by over a half second, the best times I could manage was a 12.15 at 115.8. It was hot and muggy and his car still posted some great times. With the right weather and track conditions and with the MT E/T's and spray his car is going to be unreal. Folks you are looking at a mid to high 10 second car without a doubt.

I'm going to try to make the August 30th Midwest Drag meet with JRCART being organized by AMG Jerry and ChicagoX, I'm a Black Series owner, but still loyal to my CLS55, I'm gonna have to show up with the CLS and represent for the 55's and lay down some 11.20's

Excellent times jcart, this is very good news, and congrats on breaking the record..... These are very good times considering you ran in very humid weather and that your car has veru few power mods: ECU + long tube headers + dymag wheels..... or at least for now

By the way, the rpm was a typo on my part, I meant 2000 rpm not 1000

Jcart, with all due respect, you have a 10sec car only after you have run a 10sec 1/4 mile................. Good luck.

PS- I know of no 11.2 1/4 mile "55" (on engine). If you have one, please post a time slip and video so no one will question your car.

What, since you have never heard of a 11.20 second 55 they don't exist? Are you the new resident expert from the peanut gallery? You must be.....

First of all I never claimed to have a 10 second car, secondly I believe Rich (573whpcls) runs pretty consistant 11.30's with his 55, he is trying to get into the 11.20's. His car is very heavily modded and the motor was rebuilt from the the crank out. Appearently he blew his stock motor and MB did not warranty it and he had a tuner build it up for about the same money that M-B wanted to re-build it back to stock. I would PM him for the details, I have seen his car it is pretty crazy and clearly faster than my BS.

another thing....I hate how you 55 guys all claim "motor only"...........the car has a friggin supercharger on it so it's never "motor only"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!GET A CLUE!

Jim, you were not kidding, these guys are all full of themselves. Now I remember why I stay away from this board for months at a time everyone is an automotive expert. Nothing but a bunch of haters.

ROCK---are you going to be bringing you car to the Nov. MIR event? I am planning on attending, so if you want to see me post some 11.20's-30's I would suggest showing up because I am not going to waste my valuble time posting slips for a bunch of haters that are going to find something to criticize no matter how well somebody runs.

one more thing, I'm the one that said Jims car is a 10 second car, I will correct myself now. Jims car is going to be a 10 second car with the cheater slicks & spray running in cool, dry Nov. air at MIR, I have run at MIR a dozen times, that track is fast! If he has his cams and heads finished by then it's gonna be even faster. I ran correction figures for Jims passes last Friday and they correct out to 11.26, so it is more than safe to assume that between the cheater slicks and spary he is gonna save at least another .300 second which is a 10.96. You all know that 3/10ths figure for tires and spray is on the conservative side. I agree with you that until it's done, it's only a dream, until then he has a 10.6 second car, but once MIR comes around I am going to come back to this thread and say "I told you so".

Lets be honest ... the one full of himself is Jim ...

Is he a baller? YES
Is he stupid rich? YES
Does he come off as an ***? YES
Do you know what you remind me of? A M3 owner ... with just a ton more money.

Btw Jim, since this is the E55/E63 subforum most of the owners are in E55s or were. Clearly when they are referring to all motor it is referring to NO NOS.

Will he get in the 10's? I sure hope so it would be fantastic!
