Which car makes more power?
Car #1
1.729 60'
93.160 1/8 MILE
11.692 ET
117.530 TRAP
78 temp
Car # 2
2.094 60'
91.083 1/8 MILE
12.353 ET
117.260 TRAP
60 temp
How could a car that is slower at the 1/8 mile be just as fast at the end of the 1/4 mile?

It actually makes sense. Car #2 is having some serious traction issues. The 1/8 mile speed is down because it was probably spinning and thus making the 1/8 mile "shorter" (relatively speaking). By the time it is hitting the 1/8 mile traction is no longer an issue. At this point the power of the car is pulling the car big time.
Other theories can include:
- that Car #1 has the aerodynamics of a brick and is hitting the wall above 100.
-Car #1 has better gearing for 1/4 sprints
-Car #2 might suffer from terrible turbo lag early on...but once on boost...watch out
-Car #2 hit the nitrous button half way down the track
-Car #1 hit the brakes right before the 1/4 mile mark
It can be so many far fetched things...but realistically it was my orginal answer...![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

I believe both cars are similarwith car 1 being slightly more powerful. 18 degrees is alot. Had car #1 run at 60 degrees vs 78 that 117.260 would be 119.5, on the other hand Car #2 running at 78 degrees drops to a 115.2
Car #1 likely has 20-30 more RWHP and much better tires LOL.

Car #1 is by just a little.
Actually, could be the same car... is this a trick question?![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Converting the short times to the traps and car # 1 is still edging out car #2 with a better ET at the traps. Pending both cars are the same w/FI... 18 degrees less and car # 1 with the same 60s would be pulling a bit better times and speeds at the traps.

Happens all the time. It is all about the 60ft time.

Well in this case it's not an AWD vs RWD issue, but I always found it interesting that a more powerful, much lighter GT2 has roughly the same 0-60 times as a Turbo (both 997).

what is the elevation...
#1 is the more powerful.. but not sure why the traps are not representing the true potential.
elevation and air density.
Car #2 seems like a Stage 1 (pulley, ECU)

As far as driver #2, well it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who it belongs to

Maybe, I gotta data log and see where the iat's are but I am not getting any s/c shutdown issues. I have done several wot pulls to 130+ mph back to back and have'nt had any issues either. I have a johnson cm-30 pump with stock h/e for now. I also did a little research on Dragtimes.com and didnt really see too big of a problem on the back half. Here is what I found:
My car: 93 mph 1/8 117.5 1/4
Jakpro1: 95 mph 1/8 120 1/4
RFlow: 96 mph 1/8 123.8 1/4
I think as close as these are compared the diff. lies in altitude and temperature. I dont know for sure, but hopefully with some more testing and data we will found out soon

Car two was still making a little bit more power to wheels at the end on that specific day compared to car #1. Again be it weather or other known e55 issues with cooling.
Nate you definitely need to datalog to see what's happening with the timing map and the afr's down the strip. A data-logger is your best friend with these cars, Just my 2 cents. The air quality was definitely hurting you but the car should have trapped 119-120 on that pass imo.

I let my g/f drive it after me figuring she was 100 lbs. lighter it would go high 11.50's but she let the car roll at the beams and it hurt the 60 ft. Increments on her run was 1.89 60 ft., 7.61 1/8 @ 94, 11.78 @ 118.9 mph. The faster you go to 60 ft the more it helps e.t. and hurts mph. I am really happy with only having 4 passes total on the car. As I said before, need to datalog and get some more info ASAP to figure out what all is going on and if in fact its just crappy East Tennessee weather
