I'd first like to thank our California brethren for this great idea, I will obviously not try and take credit for it. Also to Mirz for suggesting we do it here.
In that light, I'd like to invite one and all to our first (of many, hopefully) Chicagoland Cars & Coffee. Grab a cup of joe and enjoy seeing AMG's finest along with other fine european automobiles. We will be holding this event at the Starbuck's @ The Streets of Woodfield in Schaumburg, IL:

Unlike the California crew, who holds this event at awful times in the morning, I am proposing doing it at a more reasonable 10am. This is not a huge event, or cruise, or car show, just a simple social event revolved around - what else but - cars and coffee.
Please feel free to invite others from the BMW, Audi, Porsche, Lambo, F-Car etc boards to attend as well.

Sounds like I should be able to make it. I'll ask a few of my buddies as well, probably expect an R8, a couple Bimmers, a 996tt and my Black Series. It better not rain! Every event on MB World that I have attmepted to attend has been rained out. FINGERS ARE CROSSED

i will be the first to say that i hope cars and coffee catches on in chicago. I frequent arizona and have been to many ferrari cars and coffee events and they are really a good time. I wont be able to make this one as I will be in serbia until the 12th but i hope there is a good turnout to keep the event going

I have to be in South Beach this weekend. Dammit. 
I was gonna tank up on 100 octane, mount my Mickey Thompsons and go Black Series hunting!!! 
We should make this a monthly or bi-monthly event. I can't get enough of cars and coffee!!

Fawk i never get to go to the meets in my area always have to be at work on saturdays next time make it on sunday mornings or saturday afternoon im sure u will get a bigger turn out. But make sure cause im familuar with that area and know that the streets secuarity don't let u socialize in the lot at all. Enjoy

Cars and Coffee does sound like a great idea. Bummer. This sounds like a good time. I just bought my tickets to the American Lemans event at Road America. I'll try to make it for future gatherings. Have fun.

Can someone compile a list of attendees? I have a few guys intersted, they think it's a great idea, but they say they don't want to make trip up if it's going to be a crappy turn out, and I feel the same way. I'd love to see this bocome at least a monthly event, if not more often.

You can put me on the list as proable (based on others turn-out) with my Black Series, a buddy with an AC E46 M3, a buddy with an Audi R8, a buddy with a E60 330i, and a girl-friend (not girlfriend) with a really sweet and well done E90 328i, it's not fast, but it's unique and beautiful. Working on a few other guys still, NSX and 996tt.

I don't think this meet should be a big deal - for the cali/az/etc guys it isn't. It's something that happens, and if people are coming from 200 miles away this probably isn't the right event to do so. At 10am on Saturday's I'm usually itching for coffee anyways, so if I can satisfy my fix and get to check out some cool cars, it's win-win. I think that's the reason these meets are successful in other parts, because they don't need a lot of hype and a lot of legwork, they are simple yet enjoyable.

Off topic, but I was driving by Autohaus in Northbrook and it appears that a AMG event will be taking place there on Saturday. Only AMG models and an SLR models were in the show room, and the main lot had quite a few AMG displays set up with a white C63 displayed on a platform. Could be a pilot of the AMG performance Studio that was rumored to be coming to the States. Worth a look!!

Radar is not looking good at all. Would not want everyone to come out to their first cars and coffee event and get drenched. We will have to reschedule for next weekend. Sorry everyone.

The Black Series is in the shop getting nitrous installed, it might be done tomorrow, but I doubt it, they told me it would be done Friday or Saturday, I'm sure that really means Monday or Tuesday. I might head up in one of the other cars.
