COMMAND Question
Not much love in the audio forum.
Are all the connections on the back of the COMMAND fiber optic? I want to hardwire in a headphone jack port (AUX) for when I want to use my iPod. I don't want/need any kind of iPod integration because I rarely use it and I really don't care if doesn't work with the factory controls. I would just like to hardwire the jack in there, just in case, for long trips or what-not.
Thanks!

The back of the Navigation command has an AUX input to it already. It's a copper connection and not fibre.
In this Ebay picture... just to the right of the 25 way D type connector and just above the fan, you can see the small rectangular connection point for the AUX in.

Actually, depending on the year, these are already wired up to a 3.5mm stereo connection in the top left hand side of the glovebox... do you have one already there?
Edit... here's another slightly less cluttered picture..

bobgodd,
Your E55 W/command should have the I-Pod in-put jack (audio only) in the glove compartment. Get a little flash light and look close to the top, on the left side. I think it is 3.5mm jack.
EDIT;
Sorry Clive, just read your complete post
