LET's Midwest Private Drag Day - August 30
Not much good new to report back on my behalf. It was a lot hotter than predicted, I'm not sure what the official national weather service said was the high temp in Morocco, IN today but at one point my car read 90 with a cool engine. The heat, along with what was in my opinion poor track prep kept me away from going low 11 e/t. On a couple of passes I was literally spinning the tires through the finish line. My times were way off considering I was running the 100 shot. By best e/t was 11.4889 @ 122.95. I did however beat my old MPH record with a new trap speed of 123.64 mph (to be expected with NOS). My best 60' of the day was a 1.7039. I ran several 11.4's and 11'5's but that's all she had today. If anyone wants to run corrections or get DA info the pass was at 2:41 pm @ U.S 41 in Morocco, IN
If the weather looks good I'm heading out to Route 66 again on Tuesday night to try again. Looking forward to another meet with you all.

The NOS use makes the correction factor less meaningful but the DA was 4x worse so I think in ideal conditions your going to do very very well, here is a corrected time (not considering nos)
Time recorded 2:45 PM
Temperature °F 89.6
Dew Point °F 48.2
Altimeter Setting 30.12 Inches Mercury
Absolute Pressure: 29.42 Inches
Density Altitude: 2681.9 feet
Track Elelvation: 662 feet
UnCorrected ET:
11.4889 (sec) @ 122.95 (MPH)
Corrected ET to Sea Level:
11.123 (sec) @ 127.087 (MPH)
.5*2681=1340.5
Here is the NOS calculation
Corrected ET 11.286 (sec)
Corrected Trap Speed 125.225 (mph)
Did you run w/o NOS to measure your times vs the runs last time in cooler weather?

Oh sorry I see it was another C32.
Wow Jim your car is putting some distance on the other 63's and offers up a real serious challenge to all model Benzo's. 11.70@119.9 @2600 feet is stout.
Did any stage 4 or 5 55's race the CLK63 BS?
Man I hope you guys post up some slips and more pics, I LOVE THE FACT YOU GUYS track so often and all of you have really become proficient drag racers!
Mad props to LET , and the participants.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
16.675 (shut down)
11.774 (motor only)
11.717 (motor only)
11.704 (bottle)
11.638 (bottle)
11.593 (bottle)
11.557 (bottle)
11.488 (bottle)
I've got slips and lots of witnesses, however in my opinion none of the times are really even worth posting, accept for maybe my 123.64 MPH trap speed. Let me know if you want slips.
As you can see the bottle was not really helping. My 60' times without the bottle wear as good or better than my 60' with the bottle. Traction was an issue, at least for my car it was, not so much out of the hole, although it was not perfect, but down the track I was fighting for traction. On one pass I was smoking the tires so bad that I actually hit the rev limiter twice during the pass and still managed a 11.683, that is the pass in which I was spinning the tires as I crossed the finish line. Let me tell you that breaking the tires loose at 115 mph on MT's is more than a little scary. I'm used to the planted controlled feeling of the Corsa's.
Let BLACKBENZZ know his CLK record is still safe as well as your 60' record. I think I shattered the 63 trap speed record if I'm not mistaken, right?

Bottom line is your getting proper seat time and working hard to go faster. The Mt tires are tall and soft so they float at higher speeds. This feeling requires management . what psi did you run in the MT's?
Let me know your best splits. You can post em in the fastest 63 thread.
FYI Jordan of 360 Forged and ASR engineering claimed to have gone 123 mph but failed to provide a slip. While I believe him w/o the slip I am in a quandry. If you hit 123 and have a slip by all means fax it to me!!
Your shaking things up a bit and it ought to be very intyeresting @ MIR in Nov.
. It was a great event held by Wayne(ChicagoX) for all those that don't know it yet...AMG Jerry sold his car so hopefully he gets another AMG but if not his participation in this events are highly welcomed! He as well as others try to offer me advice but I can do only so much but it helped me some anyways
ET props go to JCart with the BS, times posted above.
I think the R/T props came home with me, running a 0.005 in C32used's car.

Traction was an issue due to heat - the more stickum sprayed down, the more rubber the cars pulled off the track. We swapped to chalking the line after the laser-temp reading of the track hit above 125F

October 18 is the next one planned - it should be a bit cooler.

Wayne comon buddy I need more than that , LOL
heads up you ran a guy in this thread he reeled off an .05 and your 32 was not in frame
, Whats was the story heads up, did the E63 and E55 race?
No stage 4-5 E55's to face mr. jrcart?
You are the master drag racer and you post up a review
" it was hot" "I had fun" LOL!!!!!!!!!
Great times considering the 90 degree heat and track condition.
Where is your car?

My E55 is sitting, mostly stock, awaiting a smog check. I went to renew my plate, but I had been flagged for smog and didn't have time to get it done (trip to hospital) before the track day.
The E63 was suffering from heatsoak - water temps were in the 110-112 degree range.
I did run my Range Rover (S/C RR had a flat
) twice against a VW wagon....cut a 0.07 on both races on my way to a blistering 16.486 and 16.483 at 83 mph.No takers on the bracket-race.

Where is your car?
As previously mentioned, conditions were much less than desirable. My M6 on near bald PS2's could only manage a 12.6X E/T. jtc55's E63 ran in the low 13's I believe.
Alex's car with the cutouts was insanely loud.

Jrcart's BS is very well done. It was fun to watch. (Good to meet you and your friends, Jim)
It wasn't a record setting day, but it was alot of fun. Hopefully the next event will be cooler and we can break some records...
. It might be my last test before the MIR event. In the mean time I am going to hit a few of the Tuesday nigh Test & Tunes at Route 66, since I am only about a half hour drive from that venue I should really try to take more advantage of it.

My car the the perfectly designed cutouts, I think was a shock to everyone there .... Sounds like a monster !!!
Our drive there started off with us doing a buck ten then escalated to REAlly ineresting speeds jcart's foot hit the floor with me behind him all the way to the world becoming a blur ....
Thanks again Wayne for puting it together..
Hey Jason do u have that video of my car inside .. Thanks

Thanks for the info.
Sounds like heat really took a toll on the cars.
Jangy must have the only AMG car in the USA that does not suffer heat stroke.
what was your best ET and trap of the day?
The conditions you faced are an average day at Fontana. So it makes for some great comparisons.
This will be a very interesting competition. I applaud your efforts in going to the track so often
