Sorry guys, I can't make it, unless you all want to come help me move in a couple weekends, I have a bunch of antique furniture to pack up nice and safe.

Nick

I will add that if you guys do plan on a trip together, I would suggest meeting someplace down by the Bolingbrook Ikea and taking I 65 again, as US41 is too much stop and go for a crew of 10-15 cars. And for God sakes, somebody offer to carry Jim's Mickey Thompsons for him so he can actually drive that thing there! We don't support trailer queens!

I hate trailer queens too LOL! However, trailers come in handy when stuff breaks. Since I have not made a solid pass with the MT's and NOS I really need to make sure I'm not going to be snapping axles.
The last thing I want is to be stranded in BFE Indiana with a $200,000 Mercedes and Billy Bob's Wrecker & Towing being the only way to get it out of there.

I have a few other questions. I ran into a few problems at Route 66 last night. Are my Sparco FIA certified harnesses going to be OK to run with since I am now running sub 11.50 e/t's? Route 66 says that since they are not SFI certified they could not pass me through tech. I can run them on an F1 car or in any FIA event, but not down at Route 66 in Joliet, IL??????????? What is the difference between FIA and SFI certification? Please let me know so I can try to source some if needed before Saturday.

Part of the benefit of a private track day is that the officials are more easygoing (atleast they are at US 41). Some of us ran with passengers and no-helmets (running mid-low 12's). I don't think the US 41 guys will give you any trouble unless you bring it upon yourself by acting stupid, which I trust you won't do. If you have any concerns other than that, talk to ChicagoX, he knows the officials well.

Thanks for the info. These tech guys kind of make me laugh, some of the rules are strange to say the least. I would have to say I had one of the safest cars at the track last night, it's probaly got the best brakes of anything that was out there last night, I have a roll bar, harnesses and the car is just plain solid. I would laugh every time I saw some guy in a beat up old Nova or Firebird run a high 10's or 11's, because the cars just look plain scary at the finish line, bouncing and weaving, brakes barley good enough to stop him at the other end. Then there is my car that can stop on a dime from 150mph or make the turn at the end of the strip at 85 mph if needed, but they choose to give me a hard time...what a joke, I think they are predjudice against german cars or somthing.

I'm looking forward to Saturday

I would be floored to see you snap anything. If we can run 11s in an S600 with 3 people in it, I really doubt you will break your car. As long as you are conservative with the juice. Don't try to to pull 7's.

And that Mustang wasn't helped by bouncing off the rev limiter in the burnout box....or the missed shifts.

I think they are, there were major issues last time we tried Rt. 66.
I had tech issues one time because they wanted longer wheel studs on a 911. I'm like, "Uh, this car doesn't use studs....". Had to take a lugbolt out and show them that if they were longer, it would hit the steering knuckle.

Is there any room left for other participants? My friend with the R8 is thinking about going. Let me know so I can let him know.

Also, I might have a friend follow in an SUV with my slicks so I can drive instead of trailering. Where and when are you guys from the burbs planning on meeting up? Let me know.

Thanks, what route are you guys taking? 355 to 80 to 57 I would assume? Maybe we can meet you near 355/55 interchange. I'll be coming from route 59 in Naperville then getting on 55 N to 355 S.
