ml350 tester
I am happy to be a beta tester for ML350, but I cant stretch to your mercedes pricing level
I am happy to pay what you charge for Chrysler customers for the SRT8 of $690....
http://www.cherokeesrt8.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=18108
If I am getting it as a beta tester then I think its a fairer price
I am happy to post a before and after video on youtube showing the car automatically shifting in manual mode before the software, and then with the software installed that it hits the rev limiter instead of shifting
at $690 and if it does what you say it does, then everyone with an ML should buy one

Although the TCMs in SRT8s and the TCUs in some WA5A MB trannys are related, they are far from the same. It takes different software and a significant amount more time (aka a larger investment) to cover all the WA5A variants MB uses (ChryCo uses only the WA5A580).
We will also be changing more variables for the MB TCUs than the SRT8 TCMs--for instance SRT8s don't have "comfort" "sport" etc tranny modes.
The 7As are yet completely different than even MB WA5As, which again requires completely different equipment/software to flash= more $$.
I hope that helps you understand the difference in price and where it stems from.
Sorry, $690 just isn't going to cut it (even as a beta tester) for modifying the TCU for a 7A. Nice try though.

Has anyone had this done? I'm guinea pigging for TCU mods right now and am wondering who knows what? I assume most of this potential is because we have Chrysler made trannys, but is anyone SURE they have seen the code be integrated into an MB? I don't mean the TCU being able to be flashed, but then that coordinating with the rest of the car's computers. Also, what parameters is everyone expecting to change. if it is simply if it upshifts or holds redline, then that isn't much of a change and I'm not needing that. All I need is to forget i am in manual and look down to 7K rpms for no reason.
Last thing, can anyone explain why you want to pay to have your car bounce on the limiter? is that in manual only? If so, I get it, but I rarely use manual.

The tune from MPH will tell the car to shift exactly right before redline every time at WOT. This eliminates the worries about the whole "adaptations" thing and also maximizes performance in S mode.
The tune does not affect the shifts in manual mode much, it's mostly in Sport mode. You have the ability to shift at 1000 rpms or 7000 rpms. It all depends on the driver. MPH said he'll look into minimizing the agonizing delay in shifts, but nothing is confirmed as of yet.

I think i am still a bit confused on what they have available. I don't see how a normal TCU upgrade wouldn't do just that? With my car we are doing just TCU (no hardware) for now until something breaks, but i would assume that crisper shifts would make it easier to hit your shifts in manual, no? The compromise is that the TQ converter is taxed, but hey I have no issue with that.
Can you tell me what MHP is doing that would be different? Is it that they will turn the adaptability off? Sorry for the confusion, i just got into TCU upgrades lately.

The things we're concentrating most on are the ability to change shift firmness accordingly (ie leave comfort alone but make sport extremely firm), reducing/eliminating the adaptives, and eliminating the manual shift delay. Changing shift rpm, overall firmness, automatic shifting at redline in Manual mode (if so desired), and coverter lock-up speed are definite go's. Paired with our ECU tunes (which reduce launch/shift torque management in addition to gainining power) your car will have the ability to give you whiplash on shifts and with enough tire, off the line.
Thanks

Would I need to send you mine or do you do core exchanges? I'm not even sure if that would be possible, but 5 days in your hands plus shipping time down time does not sound appealing to me, at least not this time of year, I might have to wait until the winter months. Nice weather days in my parts are going to start being scarce over the next several weeks so I need to take advantage of every one of them.

We're saying 5 days at the moment because we're simply swamped at this point. In no way do expect our average turn around time to be 5 days, in fact it will likely be on the order of 2-3 tops. Eventually we'd like to be in the 1-2 day range.
Thanks

Converter stall is a function of HP and design, but lockup can be adjusted.

722.6 and 722.9 (W7A700) transmissions have working pressure control solenoids, which are Pulse width modulated controlled, on/off time affects working pressure (line pressure)
Torque Converter Stall Speed in our cars is a mechanical function and not electronically controlled, Stator fin angle. That must be a typo error
