Early early E63's had some problems with the Valve Body. Its a very easy fix and the car will behave very much differently than it did with the old one. Don't worry about it.

It’s a swell transmission – when functioning properly: http://www.mercedestechstore.com/pdf...9%20062504.pdf

722.9 Transmission Control Module is housed in the Valves Body. The failure could be a defective solenoid, rpm sensors or TCM. Its not a major failure, MB will order a new one and replace it. You should be back in the drives seat in no time

The TSB only helps guide the techs to the current bandaid (the solenoid). There is no fix, per say. I am waiting for some TCU tuning for my C350 to see if it can help.

CLS 55 AMG - one of the last off the AMG line
My CLS 55 (I believe its the same transmission) just was brought in for the same thing. They are replacing the entire valve body. I am interested in comments that fixing it will make the car feel different. Any reason why ? The transmission felt ok - except the once a week when it would shift into neutral.
