As a matter of fact, when you look at the original press releases for the Z06 they state:

"0 to 60 mph in less than 4.0 seconds, 0 to 100 mph in less than 8.0 seconds, quarter-mile acceleration in less than 12.0 seconds, and a top speed of more than 190 mph"

We all know the Z06 obliterates those numbers so even if the CTS-V hits 12.0 @118 then you are looking at another 4 door beast.

My only point was for folks to pull their head out of the AMG sand and realize there are other manufactures in the world that make cars worth taking a look at.

You're right, I'm with you on that one

My reply was to another poster who was aiming to infer that GM was sending out "ringers" for testing, or inflating numbers.

Exactly.
That's why I drive an M5 and will SERIOUSLY consider an AMG for my next car. I tell you one thing though IT WILL NEVER ME A CADDILACK.

I like this quote from the article best.

The supercharged V-8 doesn’t feel brutally powerful in the manner of the blown Mercedes AMG cars of the recent past. When accelerating from a standstill, power builds progressively rather than abruptly.

Just my $.02.
What happens if you pulley/tune the CTS? It's now faster and the service is cheaper if you ever need it. However MB has it's advantages.

Nice motor but come guys, a Cady?? I picture pink colors and Elvis Presley or even lipstick on a pig..lol..Yuck!! Quality and refinement go a long way in this world, even over a nice motor packaged in low grade materials.

I wonder what moral is on the GM assembly line these days?
