Reliability of E55? Not daily driver.
How reliable are 2004 E55s if you do not daily drive them but maybe once or twice a week? I been searching and got mixed reviews...some people say do not go without warranty and some people say that's only true if you drive alot.
I also have the carfax for the car, so if someone can tell me if it looks like everything was handled correctly, that would be great. Please pm me.
Thanks

I daily drive my 2005. I've had a lot of work done while it was under the original warranty that was my decision to have done. It really did not have to be done, but I wanted the upgraded super charger clutch pack and IC pump. Plus a few cracks in the wood trim pieces were replaced under warranty also.
Other than those optional items I wanted replaced, it has been super solid and I fully expect it to reach 100K miles without a problem.
At 50K miles I had all the usual wear items inspected and replaced (you can search for 50K service posts) if necessary.

2003 E55
Its made to be a daily drive. Its reliable.
The warranty is a good idea because of the very high cost of parts eg. airmatic suspension failure, rare but costly.

Bingo! Warranty is just for the rape cost of parts for these cars. Supercharger clutch alone is 1200$ excluding install.
I do EXACTLY what you mention. Drive the car roughly once or maybe twice a week. Thus the 34K on a 2003. Car never had issues due to lack of use.
In the winter, gotta start her and run it once a week for awhile in the garage, but other than that runs great.

some times i feel you people pamper your cars to much....its a daily driver and is made to be one, new is better in terms of production years on these cars. thats about it
pump
super charger clutch replace
and if unlucky airmatic replace thats some of the things
other issues are shared with normal models

thank you everyone. I appreciate how none of you guys said the cliche "your crazy! warranty is a must! blahblah"
the thing is, i'll be at school, so i really have no need to drive it except to go to the gym (5 mins away) and to go home maybe every other week or so.
Can I show the carfax to someone?
Thanks!

i daily drive mine and havent had any issues. You will most likely have some minor electrical issues being it's a Mercedes, but overall i think the E55 is very reliable.
Good luck.

2006 E55 BEAST
The biggest problem I've had on my 06 E55 was the intercooler, and it only costs 240 for a new one. Amazing car, very durable if it can survive the crap I do to it.
