walked an e60 M5 today..
Did a few runs today in my bone stock E55. I want to first thank vegastrashed for coming down with his friends to meet up for some early morning runs. I had a lot of fun! ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I took out the beast for some early morning excercise with vegastashed and his gorgeous E63 and 3 very clean e60 M5's. I ran a lightly modded M5 with charcoal filters removed and section 3 exhaust (I believe). We ran from a 2nd gear roll and I immediately put about 2 car lengths on him till we shut down at 120ish![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
![action](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/action1.gif)
. We ran a few more times but they were false starts and my car just shot ahead. The beast was running like a champ! Nobody wanted to run me from a dig besides vegastrashed E63!! I wonder why? ![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)

I also did a nice run with vegastrashed in his moded E63 from a 2nd gear roll. my car jumped out about a car length and held it till the top of 3rd. 135ish mph im guessing? I was paying more attention to the road. But the weird thing is that the car did not shift when it was suppose to in 3rd instead I felt the car losing power because it was reving past 6500 rpm. I was losing momentum quickly. I did not think it was going to shift for some reason, possibly hitting the rev limiter causing us to waste a perfect run. so I tried manually shifting up to 4th and it still did not shift right away but lagged a bit and then changed gears. While I was lolly gagging the E63 pulled hard like a freight train and made up the distance and peaked a fender ahead as my car shifting out of its power band. then I had to let off because of road conditions. By far the best run of the night.![action](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/action1.gif)
Even though I was ahead most of the race. I still gave that run to the E63 because a win is a win regardless of the circumstances. ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
My car has never done that before. Oh well. I am going to change the tranny fluid and filter soon anyways. Hopefully that helps.
BTW guys. If you are going to do some runs. Make sure and drop down to the lowest gear possible. never mind trying to start at a low rpm because of where the motor makes tq, blah blah. No... Some people need to stop bench racing and theorizing and go handle some business in the real world. In real live combat situations.. When you are in a fire fight with another 500hp sedan with a very good gearbox. You don't have time to mess around. I do all rolling start runs at 4500 rpm or greater. It leaves really hard without any hesitation. That can make the difference between doing a fist pump or going home with your tail between your legs.. I proffer the first.. I also leave my heater on full blast rear vents on high and all open as well to get as much heat out of the motor as possible (as mentioned by jackpro1 as well in another post). I did this practically the whole time we were driving and doing runs. I also removed my spair tire and jack. Every little bit counts. And trust me they all add up! I have been noticing a few E55 owners embarrassing themselves and other fellow AMG'ers by not driving the cars to it's full potential and capitalizing on its strong points. People are trying to take shots at us. So its time to get off the high horse and put in some work! Just my 2 cents. Thanks for reading.

Good runs today! The stock 6speed e60 M5 you walked just got a pulley put in today so the first thing he says is he wants a rematch b/c I walked him too. No problem I told him. ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
We got separate early on with the other two modded M5s. I think the both of us would have been on the losing end. I've ran both and lost to them. One is a freak b/c of his instantaneous jump when doing rolls and the other is fully modded with all the bolt-ons available for the V10. There's a good likelihood that Max might just be able to get them to agree to do runs from a dig the next time we all meet up. That would be a good race.
I will have to practice launching from a dig b/c I suck. Before running Max, I did a burnout but forgot to turn the traction control back on, so as I rolled into the throttle I was fishtailing back and forth again. Very reminiscent of the video against the modded 996 TT.

Max,
You have a strong bone stock E55. It's going to be a beast with a few power mods!

No. I know the guy well. We've surmised that it's probably a combination of a freak/strong engine, he's beat the living cr@p out of it from day 1(too h3ll with proper break-in procedure), and his exhaust makes power with straight pipes for section 2 and Active Autowerke exhaust for section 3. He jumps the fully modded M5, but eventually gets caught and passed.

A Car
Oops, I just realized the M5 that Max.H and I walked was indeed lightly modded. Like Max mentioned, he had the charcoal filter delete, but his exhaust was a cat-back Radenergie exhaust (section 1, 2, and 3). Also, I think he has the BMC filter and RPI ram air scoops. So, there was no stock M5s there. ![](http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb76/vegastrashed/malibu/smileys/bonk.gif)
