Video of turbo Landcruiser walking E55

The more I study this video the more BS it is.
Listen carefully, they start rolling about 40mph, then the LC accelerates
and you hear the dump valve when he changes gear, then he accelerates again and you hear the dump valve again, at this time he's changed
gear twice and is only about a car length in front, then suddenly it feels like the 55 eases off for the LC to accelerate away, I had an E55 and that's not one.

Your supra only weighs 3200lbs.
I don't think you're really thinking through the difference that nearly 2500 extra pounds makes, when you're going "well gee, I've got 15xx hp in my toyo and it flies like a raped ape, so the land cruiser is do-able"...
Your supra is tough as nails, they are known for that. The land cruiser is a different story. If you really crammed enough power in an LC to get it to where it absolutely smoke 11-second cars, like that "alleged" "E55" in the video, you're going to be running through trannies every two months, snapping driveshafts right and left, etc. etc. That car is not setup to handle its own weight when combined with that much power.
And, separately, my suspicions are confirmed by a couple things in the videos. There are no AMG guages on the "E55", meaning it's really a 320, 350, or 500. Then, in the supposed "300kph" run with the vette, the speedo is sure reading a ridiculous speed but look up and check out the street lights, which are slowly cruising by at maybe 60mph.
It's all fake!

Isn't the center channel in the dashboard different? On my 55 it doesn't look anything like that. Mine has vents instead. Did they change it on a different years? Either way it's a POSER 55 or was in LIMP MODE or the guy was giving it half throttle. Guys you know what, it's probably one of those AMG E35

Anything is possible with enough money !! Sure the landcruiser can beat a E55 if he put a lot of money on it, the landcruiser may cost more than a E55 when it walk a E55 like that. But the "E55" on the video is NOT a E55 if you look closely !!

Guys,Guys don't let it get to you.
The LC had been re-mapped and running heavy boost, you can hear that
by the sound of the dump valve when changing gear, but there is only so much boost you can give a car before you need uprated crank, rods, pistons
etc,etc then your talking mega money and in some cases impossibility if
those parts become bespoke. Just take it for what it is, an LC running higher
boost racing a E350. And let's stop talking 1000 bhp, I am deeply suspicious
every time people mention these figures, having 1000hp is great if you can
prove it on a dyno.
Don't try to justify it, it's just BS.:

Many Landcruisers run 2JZ-GTE (Toyota Supra) powerplants. I personally owned a 2JZ which made over 1800HP. It is not very difficult to obtain a reliable 1000 HP from a stock longblock. Whether that was or wasn't an E55 is of no relevance. There are Landcruisers out there that make well over 1000 HP.
What are you planning on building now?

I am not sure about the authenticity of the video but you shouldn't doubt the ability of enough money and the right equipment to humble any car. It is amazing how everyone assumes that the Land Cruiser weighs 5,600lbs... isn't it within the realm of possibility that the owner gutted it and took out the front wheel drive (ala Heffner's Gallardo and various 911TT with mega horsepower)? Now think how much power would be needed for a 5,000lbs SUV to get ahead of 4,000+lbs car with 400+rwhp? Look the video maybe bull...but theoretically it is well within the realm of possibility.

Hi Tom, I posted a thread regarding CL65 brakes for you in AMG CL65, any chance I can have your opinion.
Regarding the vid, your right that anything is a possibility, however I think
you can assume this LC is running heavy boost, you can hear the dump valve
when he changes gear and yet he only makes a cars length when suddenly it's like the Merc driver took his foot off, I don't like wind up videos, and that
LC was probably quite quick compared with every day cars, but why they should say it was a E55 is beyond me. I still think by the quietness it was
a 350 or even a 500,but not a 55.
