Man that car is ugly from the front, I always thought that from the first time I saw one, rest of the car looks great, but tell me one thing.
How does it compare with the CL65 in terms of quietness and comfort they are so different in my eyes.

Good luck, it is a great car...kind of disappointed that you didn't join the V12TT fraternity. Hey, maybe with the prices still dropping at an astonishing rate you may still pick one up eventually.

Congrats on the car- having owned various types of cars myself and a CL65 I would have done the same thing you did or similar (I went 997TT in Jan). The CL is just so detached from the world- its a super cruiser and uber fast but there is just no soul in the car IMHO. Id much rather have my slow M6 than the 65 and listen to the exhaust symphony.
I really think you did the right thing with the GTR- and the performance is just amazing for the buck- sort of Z06'ish in a way if you go bang for buck.

How can you say the CL65 has no soul, perhaps your getting noise,and lack
of comfort confused with soul. I didn't think the M6 was that slow either.

What was this that I was reading... that if you use LC enough, the dealer will void your warranty on powertrain, as the blackbox in the GTR records everything. Just asking if the dealer gave you that disclaimer.

No, noise is not the same as a great sounding exhaust. Everyone here knows how great the V10's sound in stock format. And many have heard my actual M6 exhaust and will attest that my aftermarket exhaust that makes it sound even better. As for comfort the BMW seats are perfect for me and the amenities inside acutally exceed what the CL had. Sorry if my opinion does not match yours, enjoy your CL65- hope you didnt pay too much for it
The M6 is slower in comparo to the cars I have had in the straights. I had a 500 rwhp E55 and my CL has 557 rwhp which would pull on the M6 up to about 160 mph or so.
Back to our regularly schedule program, Fiske's GTR- sorry about the OT Brooks.

yea, been reading that, I don't think anyone has been voided yet... I read that the box only records the last week of data, so drive nice for a week before you bring it in....
I signed a 3 page document that said a bunch of things like, the brakes may squeal, brake pads and rotors will not last, tires won't last, transmission will rattle at neutral, ride will be harsh, etc.. etc... etc.. also said I must bring it in for "performance optimization" services at certain times, that are paid for by Nissan to make sure the car is running properly.... the regular service schedule is also pretty aggressive....

As I stated, it was my opinion (IMHO). I figured there would a CL65 owner who would chime in. To me, my opinion, soul is driver involvement, chassis feedback, handling, steering feel, and brake feel. The CL lacked these in comparison. Its still a great car, dont get me wrong and it clearly shines in straight line speed and was luxurious inside.

I can't remember who said it but it was in an old film about bank robbers.
One of them said " happiness is a warm Jag" and that 's sort of what I mean.
To me the soul of the car can be felt just sitting in it , the seat, the smell
just something welcoming. A car that handles well giving a lot back to the
driver in terms of road conditions etc I wouldn't necessarily call soul.
Any way we beg to differ, enjoy your car, when I saw it on Top Gear racing
a bullet train I was impressed and wanted it. I will have a bet with you, and that
is when you sell your GTR I will still have my 65. Good Luck.

Personally, I absolutely LOVEEEEEE burning rubber at a light and seeing people look around ---only to see---a Silver 4 door Mercedes. The look is priceless...

Its like 10 people in an elevator; and you hear a fart behind u. you turn around and it seems like it came from the direction of the good lookin woman in the heels and business suit. You think---I coulda sworn it came from back there---but it cant be her!!!
thats what the E55/S/CL are like. People and most importantly, COPS, dont really expect anything from MB.
This is why I can never own another Z06/Supra/GTR/911T. People complain about gas prices---I HATE paying high insurance premiums for tickets. Cars like this gorgeous GTR are just attention magnets----the bad kind of attension!!
