I updated the pics in this thread, closed the hood, and removed the neighbor, full size pics here: http://viper.dragtimes.com/2009-niss...-pictures.html
Here is a stock GTR running 11.5 @ 121:
http://www.dragtimes.com/2009-Nissan...eos-16431.html
the 60' time was only a 1.85 with that run..... not sure how sticky these runflats tires are, maybe a set of PS2's can bring down the 60' time a bit and lower the ET as well...
I would think 1.6x should be possible with the stock power level and AWD....

Hey you had to admit it, I was wondering when a CL65 owner was going to post. I agree with everything you say except the word ...soul.
I can't remember who said it but it was in an old film about bank robbers.
One of them said " happiness is a warm Jag" and that 's sort of what I mean.
To me the soul of the car can be felt just sitting in it , the seat, the smell
just something welcoming. A car that handles well giving a lot back to the
driver in terms of road conditions etc I wouldn't necessarily call soul.
Any way we beg to differ, enjoy your car, when I saw it on Top Gear racing
a bullet train I was impressed and wanted it. I will have a bet with you, and that
is when you sell your GTR I will still have my 65. Good Luck.
Highly depreciating CL65 owner.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

As I stated, it was my opinion (IMHO). I figured there would a CL65 owner who would chime in. To me, my opinion, soul is driver involvement, chassis feedback, handling, steering feel, and brake feel. The CL lacked these in comparison. Its still a great car, dont get me wrong and it clearly shines in straight line speed and was luxurious inside.
No, noise is not the same as a great sounding exhaust. Everyone here knows how great the V10's sound in stock format. And many have heard my actual M6 exhaust and will attest that my aftermarket exhaust that makes it sound even better. As for comfort the BMW seats are perfect for me and the amenities inside acutally exceed what the CL had. Sorry if my opinion does not match yours, enjoy your CL65- hope you didnt pay too much for it
The M6 is slower in comparo to the cars I have had in the straights. I had a 500 rwhp E55 and my CL has 557 rwhp which would pull on the M6 up to about 160 mph or so.
Back to our regularly schedule program, Fiske's GTR- sorry about the OT Brooks.

Ha Fikse.....damn it. Great car but we lost another one (Good MB owner).
With all the new blood around here it sad to see some old timers jump ship.
Again great car and good luck with her. When should we see track times?
P.S. Your GTS is sweet, looks as new as the GTR.

A lot of rumors out there, but none confirmed so far with regards to "how many" times you can use the LC. Why would Nissan state the car can do 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, if the only way it's possible to achieve this performance is to do something that will void your warranty? Of course abuse can void a warranty, but this is a very grey area with regards to using the launch control.
Things will probably clear up in a couple months, quite a few people are exploring the limits with these cars at the drag strip......

What was this that I was reading... that if you use LC enough, the dealer will void your warranty on powertrain, as the blackbox in the GTR records everything. Just asking if the dealer gave you that disclaimer.

Exactly same out there on the Left Side, "asking" and "getting" are two different things. I think your 5k premium was fair for both you and the dealer seeing how early you got the car and in a troubled economy where luxo and highline units are not selling as well.

Such a sweet car! I love the red with black rims -- very mean. I'm hoping to get my behind in one soon, though, surprisingly, I don't know anyone in Los Angeles with one yet.

Just thought I'd let you know... Nissan is in fact voiding warranties for using launch control (and turning off the VDC). Here's a link to a thread from the North American GTR Owners Club:

Replacement cost is $20K.
