The answer is Yes. Expect these to fall further as well. This is the perfect time to get a Benz period. Well, any car now for that matter.

2008 CLK 63 Cabrio 2006 SC Range Rover Sport H-D Road Glide
Luxury cars and full-size SUVs are taking the biggest hit right now. Even BMW's which have always held up very well on the resale market are taking a huge hit right now, BMW is flooded with CPO's and offering huge incentives due to their inventory. On the same note we are seeing the worst residual values ever on leases. We are seeing figures on some cars in which it is actually more expensive to lease that to purchases.
Inventories are so high with some manufacuteres on lease turn-ins that you can call them up and make them a lowball offer (lower than original lease agreement) to purchase instead of turning in your lease and they will bite. Example, my 2006 Range Rover Sport had a residual/ purchase option price of $32,700 (lease matures in Nov. of 2008) I recently called them and offered them $28,000 to buy the car rather than turn it in, they got back to me a day later and told me I could purchase it for $29,700, $3000.00 less than my original purchase option price, They crunched the numbers a figure it would cost them more to have the car inspected, put through the CPO program, and sold. There are deasl like this going on with all manufacturers right now, people just are not buying cars, and if they are they are buying sub-compacts and Hybrids.

#1- (3) titles issued with one corrected. Something not right with that
#2- Lemon law Buy Back
#3- car at auction 09/24/08.. Why? dealers keep cars with low miles. There is always a reason they end up at Autions, Major paint work that wasn't reported etc. Dealers can not cert cars with major paint work.
Make sure you know what you're looking at before you buy. Let me know if I can help.

i beleive its how he feeds his family.....he's (in the biz) as they say.
I saw 2--2003 CL600 (ttV12) for under $32,000 locally. MSRP on these vehicles was $250,000+!!
If youre doin ok financially(ie fuel costs dont really bother you)---i feel this is the GOLDEN AGE to be an auto enthusiast.
for 30-50k u can get some HEAVY IRON!!

You can read it off the web page...click "history report" next to "seller's description".
There are good deals on used MB's, but as stated previously tread carefully.

First, if you're worried about depreciation, don't buy a Mercedes.
Second, the cars in your links all have reasons why they are so cheap, as with many cars on eBay. The good used ones are CPO'd and resold by MB dealers with the rest going to auction. Many showing up on ebay from people looking to turn a fast buck after getting a "good deal" at auction.

Another one I looked at had clearly had paint work on both front fenders.

I agree that auctions are where they immediately stick the clunkers, but often in a down market "nice" cars can get auctioned as well, if they're not selling....just check out whatever you get with an ultra-fine-tooth comb!

a car
Since the US dollar has tanked, used cars in Canada are next to impossible to get rid of. My friend works at BMW Canada and he said his dealers are DESPERATE to sell their used cars because everyone is shopping in the US (prices are substantially lower in the US versus Canada).
Truly, a GOLDEN AGE for used car buying![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

This man speaks the truth. Case in point: Our 2006 Saks 5th Ave Edition R500 stickered for close to 70 grand, 35K miles ago. Auction price for this vehicle is about 23K with dealer turnaround about 29K.
Disgusting.

The market is in the crapper in terms of resell value and selling cars. This is a buyers market, and good cars with low miles and prices are plentiful. Do your research.
On these CPO cars, not to discredit CPO's at all but several members and others have had bad experiences with CPO's and dealers. Wrecked cars (frame damage), damaged undercarriage, vandalized, blown engines, etc, you name it. Don't believe the hype, and thoroughly check out any car before you buy it.
CarFax, Autocheck, VIN check, inspected by third party, I did it all on my purchases, and I had excellent prices on all my cars which were not CPO from a MB dealer. Personally, some of the nastiest dealings and talks have been at main dealerships, Chrysler and MB included.
On part that I don't like about a CPO warranty:
MBCPO Limited Warranty provides comprehensive vehicle for another 12 months, or up to 100,000 total accumulated miles. For those MBCPO vehicles that are no longer covered by the New Vehicle Warranty, the MBCPO Limited Warranty takes effect at the time of delivery.
12 months? For the extra money involved, that's where it made no sense.
Breakdown of what I mean:
When I went to buy a CLS, I went to every MB dealer in Georgia. At the time, none of them were offering a CLS for less than $62K, which were the plain vanilla, nothing added to them. Nasty colors such as Brown, etc. CPO's were even higher.
Then I hit Ebay, got one from a dealer for $53K loaded, shipped to my door, with all on my sig except for Ipod kit/Bluetooth. Over $9K difference.![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Even now I can get the MB extended warranty for 4y/100K for a little over $5K (talked with the MB dealer yesterday), which even added still works out to the better.
Sorry for being long on it!

Well, been in and out of the industry for nearly 30 years..
second generation, and yep, it's a weird time for the industry. I have clients (lawyer) who are struggling mightily and some that are maintaining. I also hold my own used car license in our state and have done so for years. Fact is, there is, and has been, TOO MUCH PRODUCT in our marketplace, and the adjustment is goig to be a bit painiful. "Ordinary" cars (non AMG's, Non M's) with no equipment, history, and average condition are just a dime a dozen. The only way to sell them is on price. Nicer, more special cars will do better, but cetrainly not where they were a year or 6 months ago. The nicest, best kept cars, with good history, from reputable sellers will still work, with a realistic number on them. Yes, you will be able to catch a good buy on something. It's also a perfet time for crooks to develop a new story to take dvantage of folks (see cars above?).

sorry Guys...
Maybe you guys didnt notice...Im in Toronto. In 2003 the US dollar was $1.36 canadian. The $250k msrp I mentioned is in canadian currency. So about $180 US at the time. Btw---the dealer had the original bill of sale that said $258K!!
Dont know if I believe that or not.
