Need a button to replace a blank!
Can I replace this blank with a button?
![](http://www.peppermintproperties.co.uk/images/e55/switchrequest.jpg)
Could I buy this...
![](http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/exceltradingllc/211821835871671.JPG)
...and use one of the functional buttons, with a new pic on![Confused](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
Or are they coded?
Need to site a button for my switchable exhaust

Even if they are coded you could probably gut one of those switches and install a normal push on push off switch behind the gutted switch. I did this for my Laser Interceptor install on my W210. I know the buttons are different but the idea would probably work.
Heres some pics of how I rigged up my switch. Sorry I don't have better shots.
I bought a stock MB ASR switch to modify

Next I bought a push on push off switch from Radio Shack

The ASR switch I bought had two little black switches in it but they were momentary and I needed a constant on constant off so I got rid of one of the black switches and carved the Radio Shack one down to size and installed it.

I then rewired the stock LED with some extra leads to work off the Laser Interceptor's input and reassembled the switch. I'm planning on redoing the lettering to the Laser Interceptor logo but haven't had the time yet.

Hope that helped a bit.

You could order the rear sunshade switch that is supposed to go in the spot from the dealer and adapt it to suit your needs.
