E-TOWN last night 1/4 mile runs

Took the car to the strip last night, it was packed so I only got two runs in. My first run was against a guy in a white C63 AMG and it was my very frist time with the E55 so I left traction on and 35psi remained in tires (just to get a feel for the car) i have 19" HREs.
I ran 13.0@108 with 2.14 60' edging out the C63 13.1x@109

Got some launch advice before my 2nd run from V12Godspeed who I met there and cut my 60' down to 1.99 and ran a 12.74@109.44.

The trap speeds appear low from what I have seen on mbworld, so I am assuming the car has some common issues (pump).

I just got this car a week ago so before I do pulley and tune I want to get the most out of it on stock boost when it runs right.

Suggestions on things I should check/replace

1) CM30 Pump

Thanks for sharing, I think I am in the same boat.
Can you post your 1/8 times? Took mine last Sunday, first time dragger
1/8 is all we have down here. Same setup as you 38PSI with 19" HREs, 75* and muggy:

60- 2.004
ET- 8.585
MPH- 83.191

60- 1.925
ET- 8.447
MPH- 83.286

TC was on but video shows a bit of wheel spin and she felt like it bogged?

I may go to MIR and take some "classes" on this drag racing thing

i dont remember the 1/8th time my slips are at home. the trap speed was 87mph. for my 12.74 i took the pressure down to 25PSI, traction off, tranny in Sport, suspension in comfort all the way up. light burnout on dry surface.

not a first time dragger, but i never had an automatic and never had a rear wheel drive so everything i did before is different.

Prodigy, Good runs bro!

Here's my advice:
1- Get sticky tires- they have them in 19's toyos R888's, or Pirelli pcorsas I think. They will drop that 60 footer like a bad habbit.
2- Get that stock pump checked out, you definitely are loosing on that trap speed. Seems low, stock E's should be trapping anywhere from 115-118
3- If you want some good power gains get a pulley and slap on a heat exchanger it should do ok with a stock tune since we run rich all the time, I did it and ran low 12's on 20 inch rims...lol!

Good meeting you last night, I was a bit dissapointed with my times but they will turn around.

it was good meeting you too man. yeah i will need to repalce my rears on 19s rather soon anyway so i will probably do tires for next season. before this season ends i want my car running up to spec. i will probably order the CM30 today. C3 and LET both don't have the heat exchangers in stock or i would have bought one already. I may go custom (can you pm me details of what core you used when you did it)

Vids?
temp?

times seem slow for that track, musta been hot?

E55 should be mid 12's as well as the C63, traps 111-113

Your 1/8th trap is not too bad. I would expect around 89-90 on that day. But it is falling on its face by the time you get to the 1/4 strip. I am wondering if you might be lifting off the gas too soon. Not sure how often you run at e-town, but the strip ends a bit after the boards. It is not uncommon for people to instinctively lift after they cross the boards thinking that the race is over. I always run to 125 mph to make sure I cover the trap.

Did the car feel like it was losing power on the top end?

hey man. i was hoping to catch you there. i have seen you run there before too. i have been there enough times not to lift early

yeah it does feel that sometime after 105 it start to loose some power. i ordered a CM30 today and i will change air filters today too. i also ordered the Evosport phenolic spacers. hopefully those things will solve my low trap and get it up to norm.
