2005 E55 AMG FOR SALE

I am selling my 05' E55. It is silver with black exterior. Very clean. 43,000 miles. Only driven close distances, always garaged, detailed practically every month. Changed the grille to a Lorinser grille, and replaced the hood emblem with the flat emblem. These two in combination give the front end a very clean look.

OPTIONS:
-Dynamic seats with massage option
-Heated/cooled seats
-Parktronic
-Keyless Go
-Integrated Phone
-Navigation
-Satellite Radio
-Electronic trunk closer
-Active xenon lights

VIN# WDBUF76J95A638739

The pictures here show the car with my 20" HRE. The rims are also posted seperately on the forum. I am asking $49,000 for the car the price does not include the HREs (includes the stock AMG rims). If you want the car with the HREs we can make a deal. Make me an offer on the car my price is negotiable.

Very nice car, and I hope you can get what you want for it. I picked up a stock 2005 with similar mileage in very good condition (say, 9 to 9.5/10, except for the wheels which are 6/10), new T1R's, but w/o active seats and nav for low $30's a couple weeks ago. The market is pretty tough on low-MPG cars these days.

All it takes is one buyer to fall in love with your car, though - best of luck!

The warranty just ran out in september of this year. The car runs absolutely perfect, nothing but normal services always on time. The only reason I am selling is I want an 07' M5.

Very nice car...Price is a bit high honestly, after market styling doesnt really hold up much, and your not even including the HRE's. With the HRE's you want what 52K Include the HRE's and drop that 5 to a 4 and you might have to interest. Your car has great options though. g/l w/sale

Thanks for the input guys I appreciate it. You do have a point that some similars are going for mid 30s, however the blue book on the car is 45k, the problem is the economy, and the people trying to get a quick buck on a car they were leasing or financing. They are killing the market for people trying to get a disappointing but fair return on investment, considering the blue book which has always been the standard on used cars. But again I appreciate all the input. Anyone reading this, I am not stuck on that price, if u feel u are interested in the car, but dont like the price, make me an offer.

Thanks everyone, and keep the comments coming

Neil, its fairly inaccurate to use Bluebook for used car values --- it's always been like this. The only true accurate way of assessing the value of your car is to look at what the asking prices for the car is in your market area .... and do a rough estimate that they will sell at 5-7% below the average asking price. That figure is what you can expect to get for your car. This is how the insurance companies do it for total-losses. I do have to mention that there are variations to this method.

It would be nearly impossible for you to get anywhere above $40k for your car. Even if you were asking for high 30's, it's going to be pretty tough. If you really want to sell your car, you're going to have to list a price in the mid 30s and expect the buyer to knock of $2-3k. I've been shopping (just got one) and have done quite a bit of research on the E55 --- so this is really just what I experienced. Others may disagree...

I agree also KBB was used before the world wide web. Now KBB isnt even considered anymore.
Like you said go to e-bay look at what cars are "selling" for that compare to yours that is around what you will get.
Either way these are just my thoughts and since im not in the market for a car it realy dont matter. good luck with the sell

I hate to pile on, but just bought a similar E55 (less parktronic and phone) with 42K miles and CPO warranty to 4/09 in July for $30K....the highline car market sucks, big time, at the moment.

Looks like a beautiful car, hope you can find a buyer that appreciates it.

Reading the posts it sounds like you should keep your car rather than take a bath on the price. Why so hooked on an M5, just a whole another set of problems to deal with?

04 - 06 e55 Wagon - looking for
My 2 cents

I've been watching the e55 market for over a year. I use multiple source listings and monitor a number of forums. If you truly want to off this car, you will need to fall out of love with it and re adjust your price because just like the Real Estate market, you will be forever chasing the market down. Also, accessories don't add much to the resale in this market.

I will repeat:

For those who need to sell, sometimes it is better to sell at a loss initially, because you can get stuck chasing the market down eventually selling it for a big time firesale price when you could have sold earlier.

Of course if you can carry the car month to month and are not hurting, then sure. Keep it until you find the right buyer. But you know, listings get stale like houses. So you constantly have to attract buyers one way or the other. Good luck.

Out of Touch Seller #1 - 2004 e55 in Irvine.

This car has been on an off Craigslist for more than 7 mos +/-. The seller originally tried to sell in the mid forty's. Way overpriced at the time. He has dropped his price slowly and is now asking $33K. If he had priced the car around $35K 6 mos ago he might have been able to sell it because that was the start of the downslide in price. He is still making payments - who knows. Car has 19" wheels and seems like it was well cared for and has extended warranty to 100K miles and all service records at Fletcher Jones. Unfortunately, the car has 80,500 miles - last I remembered the mileage was in the 70s when it was first listed. The market is so bad so be realistic about the price - period. This car will not sell until the price is in mid 20s. That blows as he could have sold it earlier if he wasn't so out of touch with the market.

Out of Touch Seller #2 - 2005 e55, blk 48K miles
This car has been for sale in Carlsbad, CA for about one and a half mos. Seems like a great car and single owner with pink slip in hand. The original price was $39K and he just dropped the price to $37,950 and listing goes Mercedes e55 AMG Well below Kelly BB. If the price was well BELOW KBB, don't ya think it would have been sold by now? The owner sent me (an all others than inquired about the car) an email early October saying he would take $37K for a great deal if closed by the end of the week. Well, it looks like there were no takers as the car is still on Craigslist with the new reduced price. Apparently the seller wanted to buy another car and sell this car, but went ahead with the new car purchase. If he was willing to take $37K one month ago, maybe he will take $36K or less now?

Good call and a fine question. I see most people use the KBB as a general guide. Most people know that the KBB's value are somewhat high and aren't very accurate as they don't know exact details that aren't included in the approximation. Having sold many many cars above 20K I use the KBB to show people "heres what kbb says" and then charge a bit under it and get my price. But to answer you question, no, I have never seen somebody charge more than KBB price and actually get their price, no.

Awesome car, not to burst your bubble but, I just bought my 2005 e55 last week with all the same options less dynamic seats for 31k and 32,000 miles on it with factory warranty. I've been looking for two years now and finally found one that I liked. Market is bad for sellers right now. I would keep the car if you can.

At the dealer highline auction prices are in the twenties for a car like this.

Are you serious?? $31k for 05 e55?? Where did you get such a great deal? I am been searching for w210 for over a year, but the price for w211 went soo much down in one year that I can afford to buy e55 for low-mid $30k.
