Johnson cm30 verses Bosch
people who are using cm30 say its the best
people who are using bosch say its the best
people who are using miezzere say its the best
anybody have actually flow etc specs on these even?
Bottom of the line, go with Meziere, it has louder sound, yes, it consume more current, yes, but gives you more cooling for your system.
First they had the 0 392 022 002, working on some of our cars but you will see that this pump has a smaller inlet and outlet port measuring 19mm in diameter. There is a lot of treads replacing this cheaper version with the 0 392 022 003 and then change the impeller housing from the old to the new increasing the port size to 22mm in diameter.
The 0 392 022 003 was produced at about the same time as the 002 but due to the flow rate at different pressure and port diameter the part numbers were different. The 003 is more commonly used in our cars and is the result of the damage caused to the Bosch pumps reliability image.
They have manufactured the 0 392 022 010 to replace the 003. You will find that the 010 has an even better flow rate under pressure and should be the latest Bosch available for our cars and the one available from your MB dealer at a very high price.
Log on to Google using "Bosch 0 392 022 010" and this should link you to all the info that you require.
The site even takes you to a site in CA Simi Valley that you can buy the OEM Bosch pump from at a very reasonable price compared to the dealer network.
Hope this helps.
I'm glad to know I picked the right one.

Anyway-I installed this bosch HD pump right after I bought my car (05 with 27k miles) and I had the same results. Car pulls much harder with just pump change and I did 10 back to back 0-90-0mph to test it and no evidence of powerloss noticeable on butt dyno.
New H/E sitting in garage waiting for me to install...being a wuss about the cold weather lately though.

Anyway, I'm going to be fitting it to my E55 today hopefully, so I'll report back if I notice any change in performance.
Can somebody please tell me if I bled the system in the correct way? I simply removed the bleed nipple and reservoir cap for a few minutes with the car idling, then I added the nipple back and let the car idle for 10 minutes. Hot air was coming out of the vents in the cabin, so I assumed it was okay. After driving it, I can't say that there was any difference at all. My old pump ended in 86 - i'll get more details on that one tomorrow.
Looking at this vid:
The guy attaches a hose to the bleed nipple and routes it back into the reservoir. Does this mean that my method was wrong? Is it a difference cooling system for the 'charger?
