Whats the OEM Wheel ET for E55
I am looking for a new set of wheels and want to know what our stock offsets are. And since they are staggered I assume the front and rear offsets "ET" are different. I noticed alot of the companies out there offer
35 ET front and rear. Is that a problem?
Last question the larger the number does that mean they come out more or go in to the wheel well more.
Thanks

SO what are the ETs of our stock wheels? Should I stay as close as possible to the oem ETs with aftermarket wheels? I want a wider stance but worried about rubbing the fenders.
If I go 19X8.5 and 19X9.5 what should my ETs be to avoid rubbing and have the most aggressive stance.

This isn't true. A higher offset number (e.g., et39 versus et32) means the wheel sits further inboard relative to the centerline of the wheel. When the wheel itself is wider, then the offset changes to compensate for the additional width.
An example of this is the standard 19' five spoke wheels supplied on the CLS55. Those rims are available for the W211 chassis with front and rear offsets of et30 and et31, respectively. For the W219 (CLS) chassis, the offsets are et25 and et28. The lower offset number means the wheel is mounted further outward. Thus, the CLS wheels fit on the W211 chassis, but are sitting further outward on our cars. Same applies to the various verions of the double spoke wheels that came on our cars.

If I go with a 19X8.5 and 19X 9.5 what ET should I use to give it a agressive look with no rubbing. I would like to use a 275 tire inthe back or 285 if possible.. I know stock is 8J X 18 ET 30 front 9J X 18 ET 39 rear so where Should I try to be at. Everywhere I look the wheels are
35ETs all round and it doesnt sound right to me

MB offers our stock Styling IVs in 8.5x18 and 9.5x18, with offsets of et30 and et33, respectively. These are reference offsets for those widths, but ultimately, the proper offset will vary slightly depending upon the design of the rim. It's much more important to buy rims that are hubcentric, but getting the offsets correct is important too since it affects suspension geometry and handling.

Good point I forgot about making sure they are hubcentric. What is the measurement of the hub?
By the way what benz do those IVs come on. Are those the ones on the Sclass that look just like ours?
