by the way.. if you already have a CP3 unit, the swap to the new HE was very simple.

Just remove the plastic air underbody.. and you have enough room just to unbolt the older unit and bring up the new one.

less than 30mins and very little coolant loss.

This only applies cars with CP3 units already installed.

I have done plenty of data logging this supper...

its basically 10-15 degrees over ambient when cruising at 70 on a 100 degree dat.

It reaches 140 at around 110mph.

but the difference is recovery time is key.
Hey,
You went with the new core? I still have the old core...

Joe,

Thank you so much for the post and for your help with testing this product! Also, your images have helped A LOT!

On a side note, the actual production unit is 4+ inches longer than the beta unit. We decided we had a little more room and would extend it a tad.

I am interested but still waiting for the pictures of the finished unit uninstalled. Experanced the SC shutdown on my run to 140 last night. It was 55ish outside and I am still stock.

No problem Aaron/Brandon.

Next up!

ECU and separated IC HE circuit from the engine coolant.. maybe with a small reservoir. like the C32 unit.

Space is limited, but I'm sure we can find a way.

I'll let Aaron chime in on fitment, but the only thing you get/need from Code 3 is the upgraded H/E. You use yer stock hoses and clamps...it bolts right up just like stock, but bigger!

You got it...you take off the stock H/E and replace directly with the Code 3 one...

Does the coolant system need to be either flushed or bled after install?
Thanks

We'll get the dimensions to you shortly and shoot you some pix. The ones I have at-hand are fairly bad. Lol.

Sincerely,

Aaron

Thank you for the post! We're fitting one in a CLS shortly, just debating on whether to bring a car in or find a local CLS. I'm waiting to hear back from a friend of mine, which I hope is very soon.

Regarding our kit versus VRP's, both are excellent products, it just comes down to personal preference.

I just spoke with Brandon and you do need to bleed the system when any coolant mod is installed.

Regards,

Aaron

Whenever the heat exchanger/intercooler fluid circuit has been breached, e.g., installing a heat exchanger or its pump, it’s imperative to ensure the system is subsequently bled of any residual air in order to maximize the effectiveness of the modification(s):

the OEM holds 28oz

The old Code3 Unit i used to have was able to hold 80oz

The new Spearco unit is slightly better, more efficient.. more rows and better entry points.

Probably holds 60+oz.
