Building X pipe and Secondary delete

First picture is of our mid pipe section with 4 cats ( See link below- untitled BMP). I could not find any good x pipes, so have to build an x to put in place of the secondary cats. Plan to cut pipes right in front of the H pipe and put X in that position. X will be on a 30 deg. angle and will match the angle of the bend in front of the cats.

Second Pic, is the start of X pipe fabrication.. Want the collector merge to be just the rigth size.. Not to large or to small.

This will all be done out of 304 SS X 2.75" pipe. Bought extra J bends to to cut and splice as need be.. Have to 8" sections just n front of the resonators that are factory crushed, so those will be cleaned up as well.

Yes, I have read all the post on pre and post cats removals but I feel this is the best way for now until I can decide on the best headers for my build.. I feel this will outperform or equate just removing primary cats on stock manifold system.. There are a lot of bends, merges, bolts and weight in this area alone. Basically a FLOW mess

Mine are straight piped in that area but I like the angles of the x.

How are you choosing size of the mixing hole?

I am open for proven ideas on merging the gases .. Other than that,, I will just pulling all the creative guesses out of my **** to maximize scavenging.

I know many are against primary cat location but I really like them up front where gases are hot and velocity high.. I have to keep interior decibels near stock. Reduce weight, reduce heat, better flow and stock-ish sound is the goal. Still looking for just the right headers..

I think you're on the right track; I chose to locate my X-pipe in the stock resonator location:

I put a traditional x-pipe where the resonators were, and I also had that dorky h-pipe thing before the cats (your untitled.bmp pic) cut out. I love the way it has made the car sound!!

That part looks like it would also replace the secondary cats and mate right up.. Is that custom or off the shelf.. Nice tig welding , makes me think custom?

Where did you get this done ? Was it a one off made just for you ? I want to replace my resonators but I am trying to figure out if it is better to just run straight pipes where the resonators are located or if I should add and X pipe or H conecting section....

It looks as though this set-up will replace the resonator and secondary cats...is it available yet?
