E55 Brake Rotor project....
If anyone has 1 front rotor and 1 rear rotor off of their e55, or a complete set laying around please let me know. I need these to use for moch up to try and make a 2 piece, floater aftermarket setup. I only have access to the ones on my car and they are kinda in use
I dont mind to pay a little for them or pay freight. These should be fairly easy to construct once the hat dimensions and working area are determined. Lemme know whatcha got

Nate,
What is wrong with these?
I have access to a full machine shop and could not recreate these rotors at a lower cost, can you?
Or are you doing carbon/ceramic up grade?

nitrous - I've been there. Save yourself the headache and get the EVOSport ones. If you want to improve on them, then perhaps consider their hats and get custom rotors (much cheaper).
Either way I have OEM and EVOSport rotors to help. Just remember they are HEAVY and shipping ain't cheap.

No sense in reinventing the wheel (actually disc
). If you plan on retaining your stock calipers, then the Evosports are the way to go with a set of upgraded pads. I'm pretty sure at one time VRP had a batch of two piece discs built too, but I don't know if they still sell them.
On the other hand, if you're prepared to slip into your big boy britches and go for aftermarket calipers, then there are the two Brembo Gran Turismo set-ups to choose from for the E55/E63. The small set-up has 380mm discs in front and 345mm discs in the rear. Earlier this fall, they introduced their new supersize kit, featuring 405mm discs in front and 380mm discs for the rear.
Every once in a while, it's fun to get lucky and that happened to me while surfing Craigslist in an out-of-state city. I stumbled across a gentlemen selling a nearly complete set of the "small" four caliper Brembo kit for the E55. The front discs were worn and the pads were shot, but replacement parts are readily available. I quickly closed the deal and have been in the process of acquiring the bits and pieces needed to rehab the front discs and do the installation. The replacement discs arrived yesterday, and I just set the hats inside the discs to take a quick picture. I plan to do a complete DIY write-up of the install once the rest of the parts arrive and I set aside time to do the project. Here's a picture of just the front calipers with the new discs:

More to follow in the near future.

I wanna do 2 differnet styles of rotors. Stock replacement with aluminum hats like the evo ones, then a super lightweight 3/8" thick drag only rotor for ultimate rotating weight savings. The rotors are coming from one of the largest racing manufacturers in NASCAR. Components and tooling will not be sacrificed at all. Hopefully moving forward with this. I got started with this idea replacing the Viper brakes since its mainly used for 1/4 mile racing and setting records. I'll keep everyone posted on my progress and findings

Here are a few examples: 1st pic street/ stock replacement, 2nd pic drag/lightweight option hopefully using stock calipers on both. The drag kit will require a aluminum shim behind the pads but should work out other than that hopefully

Not sure about the 405 caliper, but I would think so. The overall caliper length is 231.4mm versus 218mm for the 380 caliper, which does require a 19" wheel. I couldn't find anything on the Brembo website that gave wheel size info. Instead, they provide caliper fitment drawings, so using that and comparing it to the inner barrel of your wheel ought to enable you to determine what will fit. Personally, I would be more concerned about the additional weight of the larger disc/caliper set-up.
