Topgun's Unleashed E55 with LET tuning
Gents,
Finally had a chance to flash my ECU. *please note the key word "flash"
I drove north about 100 miles to Camarillo to meet up with Brandon (Code3) and in partnership with Jerry & Wayne (LET).
Jerry was our tuner via the internet.
I paid a few baseline pulls and the numbers were really bad. I can't really go into what type of machine this is, or the technical data. All I can say before and after was EYE Popping dramatic difference.
Using DynoJet numbers, my initial base runs were 360-380 RWHP and 400 to 430RWTQ. These base runs were taken once in June and Today.
Weather was a warm low 80's.

The car was placed in Dyno mode and the operator maintain the car from up shifting manually.. he would ease in and let it rip and back down again. Therefore you notice the dips on the graph.
BTW: We flash while the car was strapped on.. no time was given to adapt!!!!
The numbers speak a thousand words.
Took Brandon for a drive.. and car just pulls effortlessly on the top end.. which was my #1 goal. I drove back with a huge grin and coasted 70mph the whole way.. (wife and my 3yr old) with me. No need to put anybody in harms way.
I have much more to provide in terms of feel, throttle response, shifts, clutch engagement and engine noise.. which all are greats reviews. But those I can chime in later.
Thanks To Brandon for the helping me with the flash.
Jerry for providing the awesome file!!!
LET and Code3 is here for the WEST coast.

On a few other pulls in 4th, I was hitting 500RWTQ.
My goal was to get back my rpms from 4000 to 6000 and they are back.
I have waited over 2 years for this tune.. and it was the right one for the price and simplicity.
Just a lap top and OBD2 connector, the right software and TUNER.
BTW: This was a "standard" tune by Jerry and Wayne. I'm sure if I wanted or we had more time on the dyno.. there was more left on the table.

Wow! Two years waiting. I bet you are estatic. Very nice numbers! Track test soon?
Are your shift points set at a higher RPM now?

Congrats TopGun! Those are some amazing hp gains for your setup. Enjoy!! ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Also another great success story for LET! They are definintely making headlines and keeping up with the big boys at a much more reasonable price point.

they told me that 4th runs deep... very deep.
The operator was scared to take it to 160+mph, since he has never dyno'ed a car that went that high.
Tall gears for sure.
I'm hoping to show up to Fontana in December with Brandon from Code3.
I could not believe how a simple tune can control the boost and make the car a monster.
Today I was able to let it rip a bit more.. on my way home.
I have yet still had a need to run past 4k rpms.. simply no need.
I can go from 70 to 100 in a few blinks. I guess I was missing out on all the fun.. but at the same time I feel that it was worth it.

update after 1 week..
Wife has been driving my car for the last few days.. I have been asking her if she has been able to punch it. Traffic is bad in the mornings and afternoons.
She drives in C mode and doesn't really drive fast, unless they are picking on her.
Friday... a lifted Nissan Titan was trailing her and was very impatient.
Wife said " I went from 30 to 100, so damn fast.. I had to slow down and wait if the truck was still around"
After that.. the truck did not want to play anymore...
The tune has been great as far throttle response.. its not too aggressive as Sprint Booster.. its gets the kick down quicker.
My clutch engagement is smoother.. therefore I drive in "S" mode for often.. even with the wife and kids. Before it would jerk too much and I had to drive in C mode.
MPG: I have maintain about the same on the highway.. 20-22 depending on ideal conditions. (cool weather and cruising at 70)
But around town.. I'm averaging around 15-16..a nice increase from 13 to 14.
I think this tune.. just made want to keep the car another 12 months for sure.

Does that mean other tuners are "attaching chips" onto our ECU circuit? I thought they all just plugged in and flashed the ECU from thier office. I didn`t think anyone used piggy back chips anymore... I was wondering why (Jackpro I think) had like 3 chips welded in and out of his ECU and caused some problems??? I thought flash meant flash and not piggy back chip..

and OBD2 flash with a laptop and OBD2 plug.
obviously, some might argue one method is better than others.
So far.. its working okay with C32, C55, SRT-6, E55. ect
