We have no ABC?
I was just going over the AMG brochure and it appears that the E55 does not have the ABC (Active Body Control) suspension like how the SL, S, and CL class does.
Additionally, I find that the E55 leans a lot in the curves during spirited driving, even when the settings at Sport #2 mode.
I know there are no suspension upgrades for this car .... but any inputs/opinions?
Thanks!

jerryho,
The suspension systems on the SL/S/CL class are pneumatic based, whereas the systems in the E/ML/GL/etc classes are air-based (referred to as AIRMATIC).
In regards to the handling - you are never going to get this car to handle like a real sports car, but adding a lowering module and using it to lower the center of gravity does help quite a bit with body roll, in my experience. There are not any physical upgrades available to the suspension - notwithstanding ripping it all out and putting in Motons or Ohlins.

Hi Marcus,
Thanks for your reply. I am under the impression that pneumatic is an "air-based" system. Pneumatic and air is the same thing I believe?
How does the handling on the SL600 compare to the E55 ?

IMO, if you wanted a canyon carver, you should have bought a BMW.

Don't confuse the laws of physics with simple lean. Pound for pound, I'll take any M, BMW, Airplane, whatever. Not a chance that a 745Li would handle better. The active suspension is pretty good at keeping the car flat. Obviously, lowering will help a load. In the end, the car wil push licke a flat cow, unless you get wider tires in the front.
