Oh good a BMw I can beat woohoo
Ricky, Ricky , this is it bro ,
its gonna be a long tow back to the shop after being mopped up by Orca.
can u say dual fan install , parktronic radial symmetric magnificator
the flux capacitor coupled with 100 octane will likely be too much for the Vellano show car

IMPORTANT UPDATE: just got confirmation from track management about a few issues. This event will be limited to only 10 CARS. According to track insurance companies, to be classified as a private rental, we need to keep it under 10 cars and they will only open up 1 LANE. Anymore than 10 cars, insurance companies classifies it as a public event, and therefore insurance rates more than doubles, and track rental fees become too expensive per car up until at least 50 cars (to reach a reasonable rate).
Okay, so for this event, I'm sorry, but I'll have to cut registration at 10 cars exactly. And we will not be able to race heads up because only 1 LANE will be open.
If this is not acceptable to some of you, I completely understand. Please PM me, and I'll issue full re-fund to your account as soon as possible. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but unfortunately this is what I've been told. For our next rental, I'll try to get 30 to 50 cars, which will almost allow to make our own rules.
Now for the good news, we will aim to start racing early (8:00 a.m.) as long as it doesn't get too fogy that morning. If it's clear, we WILL start early. Otherwise, we wait until it clears, which doesn't take too long.

I don't understand how the east coast guys can rent the track for $100/car for 12 cars = $1200 while we have to pay $5k And prices are even worse at Fontana

no big deal , I guess Rick and I can go for the CLS record.
This will still be great fun and we can get some good video of the Vellano show car

This really suck AZZ. I love the sport of heads up racing. Even if we had 17 second cars it would still be a blast so long as we were racing heads up. All the car prep, the days off from work, Friends planning to go, my daughter (drag rcer in the making), Food, Ice, Gas, Cash, well you guys get the picture. No heads up one lane .. I am thinking I may have to pass on this one. Just seems like a lot of time and expense for one lane. In these times I would think the track owner would be more than happy to have it rented out.

I'm not really as mad about the 1 lane thing as much as I'm mad about the pricing structure we have here in California
Either way, the event should still be fun, and I guess we'll see how it turns out soon enough

Sounds reasonable. I was looking forward to lining up with some MB's but really mainly tuning and going after the N54 drag records. I assume they still will be giving us time slips? Or is it $5 each?
My 135 should run in the 11s, but we'll find out!

Yeah, I think he had the first 335 to hit 11.80s with just ECU, slicks, and some bolt-ons .......... and that was at crappy Fontana conditions.
No, it's $250 / car + $8 PayPal fees = $258 / participant.
The rest was sponsored by two great car enthusiasts

Some good news: looks like temps will reach a high of 58 F by 2:30 p.m. However, it seems like temps will be staying below 50 until noon. So, if we do start racing early, we'll likely be racing in 45 to 49 F for most of the time

Please, no more non-mercedes vehicles register until I get confirmation on exact number of allowable participants from the track owner. I'm 90% sure, he'll allow us more cars, but until I get that 100% confirmation, I'll have to keep the maximum number of cars to 10 cars, which was what quoted to me by Famoso management.
Here is the updated list:
1) rarfinancial - CLS63 - RennTech
2) juicee63 - CLS63 - VR530 + light weight mods
3) MB_Forever - E63 P30 - Stock
4) Shawn - E55 - Stage 3
5) URnext - SL55 - VR600+
6) Fantasm - SL63 - Stock
7) Terry335 - BMW 135i - Modded

I say I wanted to go before the guy with the 135 chimes in yet he gets on the list and I get bumped off for some reason? I better not have ordered up a line lock, VHT, and drag radials for nothing.

That new list is for people who have actually paid and confirmed payment. Sorry for the confusion. So far, there are 3 spots left but they're filling up fast.
