Tentative Exhaust Mod

Car: 2003 E55 with VR550 package
Tentative Exhaust Setup 1: Delete secondary cats (after stock H pipe) and resonator. Replace it with 3 inch piping
Question: Will I loose low end torque and how is the sound

Tentative Exhaust Setup 2: Delete secondary cats (before stock H pipe) and resonator. Fabricate a X pipe in place of resonator
Question: Will I loose low end torque and how is the sound

Tentative Exhasut Setup 3: Delete secondary cats (after stock H pipe) leave resonator on.
Question: Will I loose low end torque and how is the sound

I spent an hour reading pervious posts, hence these questions.

thank you

I went with number 2. I find it the mellow compromise between QT and some top end.

Thank you sir
When you say mellow compromise, can you tell a loss in low end torque.

I am deleting secondaries and putting custom X pipe in place. Headers next, and they will have a min.2.70 opening from collector to primary cat. Primary cats need to stay close to engine to stay hot and do their job.. Resonators will always stay on my ride!

Why add an x-pipe, if you keep your resonator? Why you love the resonator so?

I've also nearly gone blind from searching and reading exhaust posts, but I still want to know:
How much drone does the resonator really prevent?

For those of you that have removed resonator what is the drone like? I had a vette that I removed resonator in before and the drone was horrible, wish I never did it. Wonder if the E55 will yield same results?

I chopped out the factory h-pipe nonsense, and took out the resonator and added an x-pipe in it's place. I really like the way it has made my car sound, and I've even got a compliment from another E55 owner on how it sounds, that really made my day!!

Next is to have my headers built, then replace that retarded pinched pipe up front by the cats, then all will be well.

I'm not sure the it's so much about the resonator preventing anything, rather the x-pipe in its place is making the exhaust more efficient. I don't have any drone whatsoever, and my car doesn't sound like a boat or like a Vette, it sounds like a Euro performance car.

I don't have any dyno numbers to prove it, but I would say no, I didn't lose any torque. The butt-dyno says down low power is the same with a VERY SLIGHT stronger pull WAY up top.
