E55k vs Viper
So I had posted about a viper kill before and I think i found the guy. it is a gorgeous silver one and I think it is an SRT10? I know Vipers less than vettes so I wanna know if I can really beat it and what to look for in the faster models? The cat parks over by my starbucks all the time now so I can go check it out but I didn't know what to look for. Apparently, he had an "older" one before....

Lots of different Vipers out there- the ACR would flat out crush the E55-- some others not so much.

The SRT-10's had 500 HP. I ran one with my stock 2006 E55 (the guy knew how to drive it, too) from low speeds to deep in the tripple didgets (closed track, of course). Literally a dead heat to about 100 mph then the Viper would start to pull.

My cousin also has an SRT-10 that just has green filters and a corsa exhaust and in a race with my VR600 from 60-130mph I very slightly pulled...probably about 2 feet. However, I did have another person in my car while he was by himself. He's about 140lbs soaking wet while me at 200lbs and my other friend 160lbs. Not bad for a 4-door sedan that weighs almost 1000lbs more ![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I'm guessing you should do much better than I since you had the VR600 too, but now I think you have longtube headers and cam now right?

The 2003-2006 should beat the E55, but it's quite possible that it would come down to driver.

1. The GenI and II cars, 1992-2002 were all low 12 sec cars in the 1/4. Anywhere from 12.0-12.3
2. The Gen III cars 2003-2006 (510HP) were high 11 sec cars 11.7-12.0
3. The Gen IV 2008 and up (600HP) are capable of low 11 sec runs (some say it could break into the 10's but the car has only been out one year so give them time to visit the track. One , I believe, has run 11 flat at 130mph
The Gen III cars suffer from severe wheel hop. A condition that could be corrected with some simple mods.
A stock Viper with an OK driver is difficult to launch and could easily lose several seconds at the start, so can easily be beat. From a roll is different as long as he doesn't miss a shift.
From my own personal experience a stock E55 has never been a problem. Now we all know not many 55 are stock, or Vipers for that matter. The Viper is one of the easiest cars to mod. The engine is pretty much bullet proof. A Paxton or Turbo is EASY modding and these Vipers cannot be touched.
So can you really beat a Viper? Is your car modded? Then sure you can beat a stock Viper. Maybe even a lightly modded one. But if you are asking if the E55 is faster than a Viper. Not a Gen III or IV..no way!

anythings possible, but if he is in a gen 4 600+ hp one and knows how to drive you wont win, lol. However if your car is modded like crazy I think it can because we all know what highly modded E55s are capable of.

I pulled one from a 1st gear roll in my C6 Z06 when it was stock. The car I ran was a stock SRT-10 before they did the 600hp upgrade. I took it by a few lengths pretty easily.
Since you claim to have spanked a lightly modded Z06 no problem, the Viper should be a slaughtering.

I saw Jamie Furman's ACR running at MIR a couple of months back on the stock street tires and he was running low 11's @ nearly 130mph. It was between 700 and 1200 + DA that day.

Well, I'm glad i asked. I dunno what year or model it is, but from what I am reading it is likely a bit much for my car. The guy comes to my starbucks everyday and has been talking a good game. I raced him once on the roads around here, but traffic isn't a true measure. If he is willing, I'll do some friendly runs and report. I don't plan on any betting....

Moton suspension + HRE monoblocks = BALLIN!!!! ![bow](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif)
Vipers are just so agressive looking! I still want a 98 GTS with a lil boost

Besides the HRE's and motons, the car has our own brand 2pc floating drilled/slotted rotors, corsa exhaust, green filter, MGW short shifter, navigation, the interior dash is painted the exterior color, aluminum door sills, tinted taillights, diffuser painted black, gas cap powercoated black and a few other small things...
We are also making a CF front lip for it, and then i am taking out all the cats, i need it even louder! lol

The 2008+ would beat the E55. The ACR would be slower due to the aero drag - it's NOT a 1/4 mile car. the ACR would "crush" the E55 - or most other cars for that matter - on a road course.
The 2003-2006 should beat the E55, but it's quite possible that it would come down to driver.

Thanks Tom I was going to post his times, thats why I said the ACR would crush the E55--- trapping at 130 is serious speed. (im not talking about drap racing per se but just runs in general)

He even removed the rear wing, and didn't pick up any trap speed.... I thought it would slow the car down a bit..... I'm running my ACR at the drag strip tonight.....
