Any ideas on where I should start my search for a seat? How much should I expect to spend on this project for an old seat? For a fairly new one?

Thanks in advance

Can MARK CUMMINS or MBENZNL comment on the cost (and pros/cons) of the 2 options (PM me if appropriate).
As long as the car has the multicontour seats (option code 404 & 405) it is easier and cheaper to change those into drive dynamic seats (option codes 433 & 434)...if the car does not have multicontour seats it MIGHT be easier/cheaper to swap the entire seats but as all 55s and 63s (in the US) come with 404/405, one can simply upgrade that to 433/434 (ballpark figure 2000 to 3000USD for the set of 2 seats with the first seat being the most expensive)...doing just one (driverside) seat without doing the second (passenger) seat is possible - in that case the passenger seat will still function the way it does right now (eventhough that setup was never available from MB).

The hardware in the trunk contacins a pump, airreservoir, wiring, pressurevalve and some other small bits.
