Anyone install Renntech ELM?
I recently bought a Renntech ELM Version 1. I wanted to install myself but i would like to have someone walk me through it. I know there is a DIY it still looks a little confusing. Is there anyone in NJ or NY that would be willing to help out? Or install it?
Thanks guys

I installed my own. Just take your time and once you start the work everything just starts to make sense. The directions that came with mine were decent up until I got to hook up the power, but when you look at the clips that come with the ELM, then it becomes obvious what you need to do.

My directions had instructions for all makes and models. I just went to the w211 greater than 2006 instructions for a 3 wire car. Just make sure you verify the number pin that you are pulling out since the color of the wires might not match exactly to the directions.

I installed mine (see ELM install thread in DIY stickies).
First, confirm whether your car has three-wire or four-wire ride height sensors. You can visually inspect one of the front sensors to determine if it has three or four wires leading into it.
Next, download the appropriate E class install instructions from the Renntech website for the version of sensor you have. There's been confusion among some people that mistake four wire sensor for thinking that means the car has four sensors. It doesn't - all W211s have only three sensors, which depending on production date may be either a three-wire or four-wire sensor. That's why it's important to visually confirm which type of sensor your car has.
Then download the wiring schematic from the Renntech website. I personally found this to be the most valuable piece of documentation because it shows all of the pin-outs for the air level control module, and more importantly, also shows the wire color code for each wire of each pin.
When you're actually doing the install, the most important thing you can do is confirm the wire color code of the wires you're swapping or connecting from the air level control unit to the ELM unit.
Good luck with the install; I've been really pleased with mine.

So.. i guess my only question is when i look @ the top of the strut i see 3 wires going into the airbag harness.. does that mean i have 3 wire system?
Thats the only thing i need to know i can figure the rest out.
