I bought a copy of the 2007.1 Nav DVD on eBay last week for my W211. I read a few previous posts that discussed the Nav improvements starting with 2006.2 so I though 2007.1 would be a good bet. I was especially interested in the updated 3D view. I inserted the 2007.1 disc which worked fine and discovered that everything looked the same as my older 2006.1. Hmmm, did I get a bad copy, did I install it incorrectly, what was wrong and where was my 3D option? After several failed attempts to make it look and display differently I gave-up. Then I did a search on W211 Nav systems and guess what, according to many posts our older Nav systems are not set-up to process and display the newer map formats. Oh the maps will display and the software is updated but you won't get 3D maps and you won't get traffic advisories, at least not on mine. So I guess the moral of the story is thoroughly do your homework first before you decide to upgrade your car. Anybody want a 2006.1 for a good price?
