I have moved my 05 G55 to Russia a couple of weeks ago. I am driving it harder here and immediately the infamous IC pump failure issue came up.

The issue is this: as I do one or two hard 0-80mph launches, or do a couple of hard accelerations on a highway, the supercharger shuts off (huge loss of power) for 30sec-1min.
The posts here indicate that the kompressor E55s have this issue fairly often, which is related to the faulty intercooler pump. I assume that my G55 has the same problem.

I spoke with the MB service here in Moscow (huge dealership) and they thought there is no such thing as the IC pump on AMG compressor engine.

Here is my question: what is the Bosh IC pump part number?

They will do the STAR diagnostics, but I am not sure if it will show the problem (higher coolant temp at the intercooler, related to the pump underperforming). Will it? I do not want them to try to fix (and charge for it) something that is not broken in the engine, but I suspect they could.

I can answer my own question after consulting with MB techs in Toronto. The IMPROVED pump part number is A000 500 03 86 (replaces A000 550 48 83). It is the same for G55 and E55 and maybe others (see enclosed Tech Bulletin).

Hopefully, the problem will go away as the pump is replaced.
