Corvette mods

A friend of mine has a Lingenfelter C6 Z06 with head, cam, airbox, headers and tune and he claims it has added a little over 100 horsepower at the crank, much less than you guys are talking without NOS. I guess you can get more radical with the mods, but it seems to me the Z06 should have more potential for gains.

I am at stage 5 and can beat a STOCK C6 Z06 on the strip and street (barely) but that c6 could be stronger then even a Z06.

Ill have to disagree a little bit.

Is it a roll-on race or a dead dig drag race?? From a roll you'll probably get beat. Although its true that the FASTEST of these "bolt-on" Vettes has run 10.6@132mph---the vast majority DO NOT run that fast.

Here's corvetteforums "list" that is constantly updated....We can assume it is pretty indicative of their performance....

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...lenge-186.html

You'll notice that if you eliminate the top 7 cars(all of them are on Drag radials)....most fall into the ~120 to 126mph range and around 11.3-12sec. Pretty much just a little faster than a K4-E55. To me---thats a race.

So I say go for it---run his ***----E55's are very consistant. Whereas there is alot of variance in Vettes-- due to their "PARACHUTE PANT EFFECT".

All I would advise is .....A)Make sure he doesnt have Drag radials...and B)NO NOS!!

BUT!!! IF he comes dressed like this.....

ITS ON!!!!!!

Bone Stock my LS2 6.0 made 348-350 rwhp the new LS3 6.2 is putting down 370-375 rwhp bone stock

Its hard to believe, but they do make the power...they are even more mod friendly than the zo6 with bolt ons....speaking from personal experience.
I spoke to a friend of mine that dyno and tune vetts, and his answer is the same...they make power with simple bolt on,as for the automatic.it's no dud,it comes out strong like an e55.

I dunno. I ran a 12.5 at gateway international with my C6. All I have is a Vararam, NPP exhaust and a dyno tune. I'm not that familiar with E55 times but I could not imagine they are that much better. Granted, my C6 is not totally stock and it has a 6 speed. The Auto C6's are slower. Edit: my bad, I did not see K4 E55. I'm not sure what that is but when googling the thing, it sounds fast lol.

it had NO PROBLEM with it's mods putting a hurtin on c6's. The e55's on the other hand, were not so easy.

I used to have a 00 Black just like yours. Granted, I had Corsa Sports on that one not the Borla's. Man I really liked my C5 over my C6. That was a great car. Lower slung and very fast for how much you can get them for. It is by far the most bang for the buck used (have fun) car on the planet.

No mine is the 400HP LS2. When I did my dyno tune I put down 340HP but after the tune it was putting out 358RWHP. The C6 may not be the best sports car on the planet but they are cheap fun. They are little slot cars with a lot of power. I love mine. Granted, some day I would love to have a Ferrari or something like that. I'm only 34 though. Gotta have something to look forward to.

Remember that we are talking about a ls3 c6 which makes 30 more horses than the ls2 c6,25 more horses than the c5/zo6 and is much more mod friendly than both,it's even more mod friendly than the c6/zo6.
Just received a call from the guy with the vette, saying he wants to pospone the race fo tomorrow, something about it being too cold.Isuspect he is trying to add something else to his car.I was hoping to run him when its cold..it would be a great advantage for me...he would have the hardest time hooking up.

Seriously though - check out my runs at MIR on youtube vs. a C6 - it only has headers, intake and some other stuff i dont know (lol) but really not that much more if anything.
If you so much as hesitate off the line or spin tires a millisecond to long its over for you.

Those C6's hook up amazing and are fast as hell.
I ultimately wound up running a faster time but he had me 2 out of 2 at ab an 11.5 - 11.6.

From my C6 past, I'll bet a 1,000,000 bux that the cold temps/roads are the EXACT reason he's postponed (they are down right terrifying at high speed in cold conditions I opened my old modded C6 up @ about 75mph (frwy was empty"Thank God" 3 laner I was in the middle) when it finally downshifted A4 auto the Damned thing hits the gears so hard tires lit up into a small smokey fishtailing the entire back end out repeatedly into the (1) & (3) lanes if I didn't counter steer well it would've gone into the cement gaurd rails.....& this was done while using Z06 19x12 rear wheels mounted w/345 RUBBER! NOT a fun car on cold roads...

If you do end up running him get @ least (2) lanes seperating your cars side to side shi_te can happen @ any time w/those high strung low weight fiberglass Demons....Be safe...

So true. Even mine is all over the road with this cold weather and I don't have near as much HP as either one of you guys. I gotta tell you though, that is one of the things I love about the C6. It's just a white knuckle fun ride!

The other thing to keep in mind is most all C6's weigh in at 3300lbs. That's not a lot.

Tot agree it made me feel like an outlaw/biker/hells angel every time I took the wheel, completely obnoxious & awesome (I had Bullet straight pipes w/Kooks logtubes Kooks X-pipe hi-flo 200 cell cats etc..) When I stepped on it pedestrians would literally cover there ears

Damn! I'm getting ready to Supercharge mine. They are just so darn cheap that you can easily add 600RWHP for nothing. They really are great little cars. Plus, I don't have to worry about anything happening to mine. If something does, there are tons more used low mileage ones out there. You should see my NPP exhaust set up. I have a remote in the car the opens the inside pipes wide open. Then you can just hit the remote and it is as quiet as can be. Very James Bond. Basically it's wireless cut outs. Here is a video of it. An amazing exhaust. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y33MDL5cnxQ and another of it revving with long tubes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaJy6...eature=related

Well on that day, there were runs of 110-117 some stock and some modified. I was the fastest stock E55 that day and Shawn went faster but he's modded ecu/pulley ......
