oh I see. It was a 2 year extended warranty after the factory warranty expired. So I should get it all back (besides hidden admin fees) since the car will still be in the factory warranty period right? Theoretically?? Hopefully?? haha
I hope I can negotiate. I really like the 55's, and I've had it since new, so Id really like to keep it. Unless (knock on wood) something happens to it in the next few months.

Ok clearly you are over value in your residual...buyouts for 06's today and I mean right now are in the low 30's and high 20's with miles... so lets add 9 more months and this dismal economy and I see your car in the bottom twenties. I think at this point the car has taken the majority of its depreciation and at worst it could be in the high teens. I would offer bottom 20's in November but we can always revisit values especially if they flatten out.

Also, with all these cars auctioning for low $30's, why is every Mercedes dealer asking low $40's? I know they are in the business to make money, but if they need to sell cars, they should lower their prices so they will move. I am looking to buy one in the NY area, but these dealers don't care to sell to me when I show them a $35K bid for an '06 with 25K miles. I'd prefer to buy from a dealer so I can get the extra warranty, but it's not worth 10K over auction price.
I guess the MB dealer just doesn't care to sell at $35K cause he's losing money and would rather HOPE he gets bailed out.
