Question E63 P30 Front Brakes...?

20k, Service B, says they need replaced, I did some searching, seams a bit unclear, I do drive the car hard, sounds right? cost? I just got a voice mail, said "somewhere around $300".

The front rotors are $800 each, maybe they only quoted you for the pads...

No idea about stock P30 and non-stock. To be honest I think they are the same.

However, due to all the complaining about squeeling brakes, there is a new compound available that reduces the squeeling. The question is, is this compound better or worse than original?

A good PL question.

Forget that...they will just refer you back to the dealer...

For the E-Class, the P30 package does not enhance brakes. The E63 P30 gets the same brakes as the regular E63.

Uh, $300 is cheap for your brakes. Last time I quoted those brakes I think it was almost $300 for the pads alone.

Miles seem right for pads or even pads and rotors.

OUCH

Ok, they said pads installed $540, $115 labor.... 3mm left on the pads, he said there is an indicator in the car that tells me when the pads are getting low, if I wanted to keep driving the car, it would let me know.

Thoughs?

$100 labor
$32 sensor (advised to replace each time)
$358 pads

P30 Front Discs

It seems my front brake discs are 390cms, not the regular size. Also Composite brakes. When you try and buy after market kits, they all specifically exclude P30 packages. I'm looking for discs now if anyone can help me, Id much appreciate it

Unless someone upgraded your brakes before you bought the car (maybe to the CLS63 P30 brakes), they should be exactly the same as the non performance package E63 brakes. The performance package upgrades the brakes for the SL63, CLS63, C63 but NOT for the E63 which why maybe some aftermarket companies are excluding the P30 packages thinking that was the case with the E63 performance package as well. You can look-up the performance package on Mercedes website and you will see no brake change for the E63. European spec E63, on the other hand, is a different story
