I cant believe the process you have to go through to get this stupid thing off... I takes about 15 minutes to take off the trunk lining, but its not that bad.. I opted to do this as I wasnt comfortable in spraying it still on there..

Taking the star off without breaking it isn't that bad. Just remove the trunk lining and you just gradually pull the plugs that hold the star in place. Then it just comes right out. It doesn't have any adhesive on it. Removing all the screws that hold the trunk lining in place is what takes the longest.

He he...sadly...the funny grill is back on (temporarily)...even with 5 or 6 coats of paint AND 5 or 6 coats of clear coat...I got a few chips. I can NOT have that.

you dont have to remove the entire lining, you can get away with just taking the clips off until you have enough lining to pull back. then it should be easy enough to get your arm up there to push the star out. worked well for me.
