Brabus SL wheels on a E55 for fun.....

Was bored the other day so i decided to try on the wheels off the SL on to the E. the offset is to radical for the e55 but it almost works ohh ya by the way the tire on the wheel is a 295/30/19 on a 9.5 inch wheel so with the right tire it might work.

Looks like a little high.
Did you move the car a little back and forth??...this way it could be at his normal height.

Yes. When you change wheels or just one wheel; you have to use the parking brake, right??... when you took the brake off drop the car a little, then roll it back and forth and you'll see the diference.

Interesting... Stock SL tire size is 285 and you could go as low as 275 without stretching the tire.

Meaning you could go to a 275 tire on that rim with no problems and it might improve the fit. The shoulder of the tire would stick out about 3/4 inch less and have less chance of rubbing on the fender.

Just get different (10mm) spacers from Brabus and that wheel will clear E55 just fine.

nice

I always wonder how aggresive the sl offset would be, looks pretty euro- If you run a 275 i think it would be fine

Wont that make it worse? Isn't the problem that the wheel sticks out past the wheel arch already, so a spacer will push it out further.

You are correct. SL wheels have lower offset than E wheels so they stick out more. Spacers will reduce the offset even more and make the wheels stick out more. Unless you get the new Brabus "Black Hole" spacers

Maybe Brabus made a different offset wheels for SL... back in the day all casts were the same and offset adjusted by spacers. My Brabus wheels are all sitting on 10mm spacers.
