Track fail. Still no 11s. Advice?
Went to a test&tune at Atco yesterday.
mods..
Evosport 175mm pulley set on Stock ECU
80mm TB
Evosport Phenolic Spacers
Code3 Heat Exchanger
CM30 Pump
K&N Filters
Removed secondary cats
my best run was a 12.1 @ 115.93 with a 1.88 60' and my best trap was on a 12.23 @117.06 run with a 2.0 60'. i was running on bridgestone re050 275/39/19 tires with about 23psi in them. i got a bunch of runs in and the constraint seemed to be traction, but even with that in mind the car is not trapping as high as i thought it would. when i first got it 4 months ago - it went 12.7@109 with the supercharger shutting off.
I know I should get better tires and rear wheels.
Only other thing I can think of is ECU tune - is that the only thing I am missing?

When launching on street tires, I get better results (~ 1.7 second 60') by inflating the tires to the recommended level. A lower 60' time won't improve your trap speed, of course, but would help your ET.
Good luck! You are just a whisker away!

Yep. You'll see a big improvement with a good ECU tune.

i do realize that a 60' will not improve my trap speed - it was cold and the Re050s ar OK at best so I was not even expecting a 1.88. trap speeds were what disappointed me ....

ECU tune is one of the cheaper mods though. Maybe we can set up another LET dyno tune day in the area and get you a custom tune. Much better than a remote tune

When you get to 35K, call me. Not that there's anyone I know that has spent that kinda cash on their car. That's would be friggin crazy.......wouldn't it?

Id bet you trap much higher with the stock pulley. Proven many times-->pulley with no tune=less power. 115-117mph is a pretty avg trap for a stock car. Your 80mm TB and cat removal should be worth ~3mph or 118-120mph without the pulley.

If you are concerned with spending,, then I would make sure I had 100% traction before trying to add more power.. 1.88 short time ,still sounds like some tire spin.. Based on your mods, I would think a 1.75 to 1.78 would be easilly attainable.. With a 1.75 sixty foot, you would have run a high 11.8 ET.. What was your race weight?
You can not go wrong witht he LET tune for adding big power and at a great price but still will need traction..

as long as i run 19s i will be leaving some time on the table - but 19s is what i run on the street. i want to get my trap speed to where they should be as it appears that without a tune all my go-fast parts added NOTHING

I still can't believe Jim cracked open his engine to try the SLR cams!
One more trip to the well for the ECU tune. The difference will be dramatic.

yeah i guess it's not that i've been holding off on it......it's that i am waiting for wayne to make another trip out here so he tune my car in person (possibly on a dyno). i can't really have down time on my car right now to mail the ecu out there either.... so i'll just have to suck it up until he comes out here.

Prodigy- when I met you at e-town you said no mods for your E...., I told you yeah right....the modding bug hasn't hit you yet!....I knew this was coming...lol!
Your story sounds a lot like my old E...I had every bolt on you could figure...until I put it all together with an ECU tune...had SLR cams, TB, ASP pulley, Klee Headers, Eisenman Exhaust, and a Big IC..
Without the tune best I could do was an 12.2 at 116-117...after the tune I ran 11.5 at 120+...
You need that tune!!!
Here is my old beast slipping all the way with some fat R888's...

If coolings not a problem, the ECU tune should definitely set you straight. +1 to what everyone's been already saying.

LOL, I stopped counting once I hit $50k and that was about 9 months ago I honestly don't even want to know at this point. $65-70k, possibly more, would be a very accurate guess at this point.

on the 1.88 it didnt seem to spin and i couldnt really replicate that launch, next best short itme was a 1.95. i need get a wheel/tire setup. i have 19" HREs and there is no 19" drag radials only 18 and 20.
as long as i run 19s i will be leaving some time on the table - but 19s is what i run on the street. i want to get my trap speed to where they should be as it appears that without a tune all my go-fast parts added NOTHING

running 19" tires in general will yield to slower 60' time. there is less sidewall, and sidewall is stiffer. thats why radials and slicks have very soft sidewall
