After April is the earliest I have read.

You do know that in order to get one you have to place an order and be on the waiting list. There will be no 'walk into the dealership pick one out and drive it home'. The wait is probably up to two years by now.

While Kev is correct, that waiting lists are long, I will bet you'll see high dropout rates, and that if you want a 55 you'll be able to pick one up at very close to MSRP by late summer.
I believe I've heard that normally about 75% of people on waiting lists will actually follow through and purchase.
I'll bet for the E55 it'll be closer to 55-65%.
My dealer called and left me a message today that he had 'good news' about my order (I'm supposed to be #2 on the list here).
Maybe they're getting ready to start taking spec orders.

I doubt there will be a long wait for the W211 once it starts selling. I read MB has increased the production on the E55 from about 500 to roughly 1500 for the US market. I visited a dealer yesterday, and they have lots of recent AMG's on the lot.

The CLK55, CL55, S55 & SL55 are all 2003 models. The W211 E55 will be a 2004 in the US. The W211 is the newest chassis of all the others.

The dealers get really greedy for those 'on the lot cars' and like to charge $10k - $20k over sticker. The main reason potential buyers place pre-orders is because they can buy the E55 at MSRP. Without a 'order' the cars will not sell at MSRP.
