Sunroof Problem?

Hey guys,

I just noticed a strange problem with my sunroof. More often than not, when I go to close my sunroof It will close about 1/4 of the way and then come back open. If I hold the button until about 1/2 way it will close but then as soon as i let off for it to go the rest of the way, it will stop as if something is in the way again. I took it to the dealership and they said they couldn't find anything wrong...

If I hold the button down it closes no problem.

ALSO... occasionally after I wash my car it will close without any problem

any ideas??????

Thanks,

-Paul

Mine does the same exact thing- I just thought it was normal! Maybe it's not?

Try resetting it by doing what it says in this post. That may do the trick:

Definitely needs to be reset. That's the same thing that happens after the battery dies or gets changed. Resetting cured it when my sunroof was acting up due to a dead battery.

That makes perfect sense seeing as my battery died a few months ago!

I'll try that and let everyone know that fixes it

Thanks!

according to the responses on the other post, it seems that is your problem... now question is, did the dealer try this? and if not, why not!!!

No luck with the reset... I think I'm going to hit the tracks with some WD40...

Happened to me before, My buddy who is a SA said to grease the tracks and it will solve the issue. Now it only does it once in a blue moon.

Don't use wd40. That will dry out quickly and might make things worse.
