2006 Pontiac GTO
GM guy conteplating crossing over...
So I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Shawn and I live in San Diego, California. I have been a big GM fan all my life owning anything from Camaro's to Trans Am's to the current 2006 Pontiac GTO that I have.
I work in the car business and had recently purchased a 2006 E55 AMG for a friend and he backed out of it. He changed his mind and now wants an BMW M5. The E55 AMG has 40,001 miles on the odometer and it is in PRESTINE condition. Still under full factory warranty.
I have been driving this car around here and there and I am now conteplating actually buying this car. Plus I get it at my cost at 34000 dollars. It is such a blast to drive.
My main question is reliability. I've heard allot about Mercedes and they are prone to "little devils" running around the car. How reliable are these cars and what are the major problems with them? Any info would help.
Thanks,
Shawn

Shawn, your question has been asked 1000 times, you can see all the replies if you use the "search" feature.
Here is the short list,
Intercooler pump will go bad, replace with aftermarket pump $125.
AirMatic can be expensive a few members have had failures.
Any visit to the dealer is $$$$$$
Most members here will tell you the warranty is necessary, and that is true, get an aftermarket warranty while your factory warranty is still in effect.
In the end you will enjoy torque like no other car has.
