+1 dyno sheets will either put these headers on the map or sink them

I have Longtube header dyno sheets to compare them to, except I also had the X-pipe. Rick, what does the rest of your exhaust and mod list look like? No use comparing them if they are not somewhat apples to apples.

The headers look good, I have one question though: I'm curious why the collector is so small; the merge of the collector looks very good, but why the pinch point??

With a new tune, I'd guess a 63 gets sweet gains from long heads. You had shorties before, right? What tune are you running with them?

Difficult to tell from the pics.....but these do not look to be equal length long tubes...

I just noticed the same thing, could be an illusion but it looks like the tubes are four different lengths. Not sure why they would do that on longtubes???

Yes Jangy, thanks...and having UNequal length means different pulse and velocity in the exhaust gas.

I posted an article in one of the last exhaust threads but I don't think anyone read it. Equal length headers aren't quite so necessary in a V8 as they are in say a inline 4 cylinder. The exhaust pulses in a V8 are already uneven, so the equal length primaries don't really offer much.

I've heard this as well before. But even though they aren't necessary it seems if you were to going to go ahead and tackle building longtubes that you'd go ahead and make sure they were equal just to maximize power output incase there were a few horsepower to be had.

The question may become (at least, in my non-exhaust-engineer's mind) "in this application, are fatter tubes better, or equal-length runners better" - from the pics, this setup looks to be as compact as possible, with little wasted-space; perhaps unequal is the only way to fit pipes this big? If you could (hypothetically) fit 1.5" pipes equal length, or 1.875" pipes unequal, which approach would net the better performance returns?

Agree w/ others; the dyno results will be interesting to see.
