Hennesey 2009 CTS-V...11.45 @124

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/W...TSV_636186.htm

thought it would be faster...think it has pulley, long tube headers, tune, upgrade HE, midpipes, high-flow cats, Cold air induction. An E55 with same stuff is just as fast. Maybe the Cadi is all hype

I would have expected to be faster than 11.45
Can't wait to find one on the street.

plenty fast for what it is but i also thought it would have been faster when compared mod for mod with the e. maybe it will do better soon but for now at least i don't feel like i'm missing anything anymore.

I have not had the opportunity to drive the new CTS-V, but have heard they have not done too much to correct the wheel hop issues of the last generation V. If it is anything at all like the old one, traction and wheel hop is a BIG problem. My V has had major rear sub-frame and suspension work to address the hop issue, I have improved it, but it's still far from perfect. What would be more telling would be some 40mph roll-ons with this Hennesy Beast, I think that is where you would see it this V shine. Let's put it this way, mine makes over 600 at the wheels and it only runs high 11.20's with R compound Pilots with 2.00 60's being the best I can manage.

I thought it'd be a lil faster too...either way it's a quick car...

Love to run into one one day...that'd be interesting...

Me too... I'd love to run into one, then start the ignition and drive away; after I buy it of course.

That's pretty fast but it still looks like a cheap Chevy Malibu on steroids to me.

I believe the timeslip from the video showed 1.77 60'....so perhaps this has been addressed.

I think we are being a little harsh. The car JUST came out.

With just a pulley and tune----its gone 11.85 at 121.79mph. Whats more--it seems to me that something is holding that car back.

take a look at the timeslip of the V610(pulley tune) CTS-v.....its getting to the 1/8th at 97mph....but only trapping 121.79? A 97mph 1/8th should be a 124-126mph trap. Somehow the car is slowing down up top a little.

For example---Derek DJE55---timeslip below---he has a better 60'....traps about the same but is 2mph behind at the 1/8th.

Then V650 traps 97.74mph in the 1/8th and 124.48mph in the 1/4 with 40 more hp. something seems off. Still great for pulley/tune/headers....they still can do 2 more things....1---better IC from the ZR1 2)Huge TB....So a "K4" version of this car will have at least 50 more rwhp and trap 128-130mph.

I honestly was going to buy one 'til I sat in it. The black laquer cheapens the whole interior.

There a ton of aftermarket companies doing testing right now, (a hell of alot better than Hennessy),so don't be surprised when you start seeing 11, 10 or even 9 sec Caddies runnin around.

I can't believe it only reached 11.45 with all these mods..... Like someone said earlier, there are E55s running 11.20 and 11.10 with similar or at least comparable mods

Well, keep in mind that GM reports a curb weight of 4,255 lbs for the CTS-V while the E55 is only 4,087 lbs (and some sources claim even less).

It's not often that the Benz is the lighter car in the comparison....

my E55 weighed in at 4120 without me in it at Englishtown.

as far as the cts-v goes, i am sure we'll be seeing 10s soon enough.

Never mind all the hyperboil about cheap GM stuff, I agreee to a certain extent, but go take one for a real flogging.
As for the Hennesey run it was on 20" PS2's.

somethings better left unsaid ...
you can't turn the Traction Control off on that thing, right?

not an expert but clearly a traction problem.

11.20 & 11.10, = Drag radials, right? This Caddy was on 20" PS2's.

Correction...After watchin the video again...the Caddy is not running 20" PS2's. In the pics of the car yes, he has the HRE's on there...but when you see the video of the car on the track, they look like drags to me... Look at the burnout and you could clearly see that he is running stock wheels in the front at least. In the back, the tire has too much sidewall to be a 20" tire... Just my observation...

Looks like they are maybe 19 inch PS2's. The OEM tire size is 285/35/19, which would have a decent sized sidewall.

On their website the owner, who works at HMS, says it was on 20", but hey he could be lying his a$$ off right?

Sooner or later these things are going to be quick enough. Still no AMG but who cares right? Any car that can run low 11's with a few G's in mods is OK in my book.

Total agree. In the end...it's a fast car. Whether he ran on drags or whatever else, he's in the 11's. All good in the end!

A couple of quotes from the Hennessey team:
Post #1: There is more in the car. We did not run it in sport mode and the motor was a bit heat soaked. I think its got an 11.3 @ 126 mph in it with no changes, just more testing.

Post #12: We had drag radials on the back.

From: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...-45-124-a.html
For comparison, the lowest ET/highest trap speed E55 runs to date (without NOS) are forum members Nitrous Nate with 11.05@124.9 and E55 Baller with 11.11@126.1.

I'm sure the new V is awesome, I have been meaning to drive one. My current V left such a bad taste is my mouth about GM's, I'm sure you heard my gripes about being on my 7th rear-end that's one of the reasons I choose to not hang on to the ZR1. The car was a monster stock and now it is a real monster, just so fragile. I did just purchase a new Chevy Avalanche last week, we will see how that treats me before I commit to any more GM products. I must also admit the new Camaro has caught my eye and have thought about buying one of those and gutting it and turning it into a street legal 1/4 mile monster. I can't get too ahead of myself though, I am modding the hell out of the Avalanche and hopfully the new SL will be here in the next few weeks, those two projects should keep me busy enough.
